Trump Fan 1980, 13 Dec 2017 It's nice to see a story in the news come along here that ... moreBasically, the Xbox One sold worse (~7M) than the Nintendo Switch (~10M) in the same period. This was on top of the Xbox having higher stock available, and the holiday season to take advantage of. So the Nintendo Switch is doing great for its first-run, but can it maintain that momentum?

The PS4 did better (~14M), and continued its momentum, unlike the Xbox.
Currently the PS4 is around a total 71M unit sales, and its divided roughly like ~60M Base-PS4's and ~10M PS4 Pro units. On top of this they've sold over 2M PS VR headsets,

This in comparison to Xbox One's ~33M units sold, where ~1M units are Xbox One X's.
And in the land of VR, the Facebook Rift has sold around 0.6M units and the Valve Vive has sold around 0.7M units. So combined, they are lower than the PS VR unit sales.

The previous gen had the PS3 soar to ~85M units, the Xbox 360 to ~83M units, and the WiiU to ~14M units.

The only problem I see with the Nintendo Switch is that its graphics are weaker than the Xbox One, so as I predicted, its taking a lot of time and effort and money to be able to port titles. Whereas the Xbox One X has breakaway a much faster performance, and the PS5 will be here in 10-20 months using new-gen hardware. Thus, the Nintendo Switch is going to look outdated much sooner than the early adopters anticipated (I expected this to happen). So I believe the Nintendo Switch will transform from a "home console adults can take on the go" into more of a "tablet for kids" as it keeps cannibalising the Nintendo DS marketshare. It's a shame that Nintendo could've kept the momentum going, if they didn't cheap out on the internals and instead used high-end 14nmFF and Cortex A72 parts... they could've made the Switch slightly faster than the base Xbox One, and thus keep it even more accessible and relevant with quicker ports of fan favourites. You won't see titles like AC Origins or WatchDogs 2 ever getting ported, which is a shame. Read up on the difficulties of the Doom (2016) port, which isn't necessarily that complex for a game, for more technicalities for my point.

9 million have gone back for repairs lol

It's nice to see a story in the news come along here that does not contain a bunch of negative comments by commentators on this site. I wouldn't mind hearing approximately how Playstation 4 and 4K Xbox units have been sold this year and to date GSM Arena. Cheers.

Now there will be 10 Million players who'll play Bayonetta 3.

Just blame Sony and Microsoft for not funding SEGA for Bayonetta 2 and 3 for your consoles. Nintendo did nothing wrong, they're just helping their old enemy out. I'm real glad Nintendo is no longer seen as a kids only console. Yep, all the big tiddies from Bayo and Xenoblade and no Call of Duty.
