Honestly if the phone had an amoled screen without a notch, a headphone jack, one really good camera with ois, and was introduced at $500, it would have been the hit phone of the year. Even though they're selling slightly better than before, it's nowhere near the sales volume of the other big players and not nearly enough to sustain and grow their company. If the 2018 version isn't a success, I don't see essential getting out of the hole they dug themselves into.

Samsung is a long established company so OF COURSE they're able to sell Note 8s more than PH-1 while Essential just started from the incubator company worth a billion dollars so they need more time and experience in order to be established as both reliable and worthy of a household name.

Jeez, how toxic you guys are. I want to see Essential grow since they have our Android Lord, Andy Rubin, running the company. I'm glad their sales improved tenfold.

probably 20000 are in hands of employees and people related to Essential. 5000 where give away for free as promotion, another 5000 are in hands of reviewers, and half of the rest probably just lie somewhere in shops where workers play with them because no one want them....

You cant do much with it, just basic stuff, and if you brought one and are reading this i have a GOOD NEWS to you: For the same price you can buy better (i dont will tell you what, but you will remember what in just a sec.).
Now, you just realise what you can buy with that money you spend in EssentialCrap and are sorrow for be blind and think is a great phone, HERE IS THE FRESH NEWS: you just buy a crap and now you have two options: live with it or go change that brick for a swiss-tool phone.

Tbh, The essential was riding in that hype train until the early delay issues. Screen issues, camera issues and most of all, the performance issues.
The price tag of 700USD was absurd and i'm impressed it sold as much as 50'000 units.
I wouldn't want a phone like that, even tho it has an amazing body to ratio screen.
The lack of Oled is a big no for me.
Now it may be a good deal grabber, but i settled with the oneplus 5T. It doesn't look as innovating as the Essential but i know OnePlus devices have a premium build and everything just works out of the Box.
