But i think the 835 is the sweet spot. There are more flagships this year than ever before.
The release of the Razer phone, Essential, new oneplus design, xiaomi mi6 all glass, samsung s8 new bezeless design and a not exploding samsung note 8.
No incident this year, everything was near flawless, snapdragon did an awesome job.
So awesome that oneplus didn't even use heatpipes for heat dissipation for the oneplus 5T.
Me owning the OP5T i'm impressed how cool the device remains, even after long period of gaming (over 2hours straight) playing PES, clash royale and real racing 3. Amazing

Last year we finally had a huge jump in performance, efficiency and thermal distribution. This year was more of an incremental update as noted by Qualcomm using the same chip for SD 835 as was in 820. And also the wierd shapes and sizes this year I don't think will stick around in long term. This is just a interim thing before truly foldable and bezel less phones become a reality. I am gonna wait around till that happens with my 3T.

Blackberry foolishly went up against Samsung and Apple in the Touch Screen arena and bet the family jewels after the ship had already sailed. The launch of the Q10 and Z10 was the beginning of the end in my eyes and they've never recovered from that.

This is very disappointing information. How come a big company like blackberry treat their customers very worst like this. They are so selfish and always thinking on how to make their company keep floating by sacrificing their loyal customers. And I'm one of them that feel so disappointed about blackberry decisions lately. I ever used 8700 series, Curve Series, Z10, Q10, and now Passport SE. As a loyal customer, I always thinking on how to contribute my support to them by becoming their customer and using their products continuously.
But now, I don't really care about blackberry products. Though they're offering products with best security or something. It's already passed by.
Blackberry deserves to get their fate as a loser on this stage. They don't know how to treat their loyal customers better and better. And they are digging their own grave perfectly.

This is the main reason I stick with Apple, even though I have a (admittedly slight) preference for Android with its better widgets, greater customization and wider choice of handsets.
Apple simply offers more immediate support for much longer. With the iPhone, you are getting around 5 years or support with the latest major software updates. A good example is the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and Apple iPhone 6 Plus, both released September/October 2014. The 6 Plus still happily runs iOS 11.2.1, released in December 2017. Devices are updated by Apple directly.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 4 is currently running a Samsung layer over Android Marshmallow 6.0 (the final version number depends on things like carrier/chipset). That version of Android was released on October 2015. Critical security updates are being made, but the rollout is still dependent on carriers in many cases.
Apple devices cost more and they are behind Android in some ways, but in this critical area, there is no contest.
And until Blackberry and others start to find a way to update devices more quickly for a longer timeline, many customers will continue to (unhappily) put their money elsewhere.

The reason bb die is simple, it burns its foollower by bad product.
Do you remember the old day that you need to take out the battery to resrart bb?
Do you remember the old bb 10 days when developer having oroblem because API NOT MATURE to develop any apps?

The reason BB didnt do OS update for this phone anymore because BB didn't have any left in their storage, and they sold very small number of them. So, keep giving support is impossible.
The reason bb could keep giving their bb os an update because there is no 'standard' to follow. Bb could just release an update that only fix 3 or 5 things, and their user thinks bb do great.
Anyone who think TCL with BB brand is better hardware/software need to think twice. What better security BB bring to android?? BB only say its more secure, but never said why... Its a hype.

2. Small battery...
3. Small Screen size (5.5" max at the time i buy)

For me, that 3 requirements were non-negotiable
4. I prefer qualcom high speed modem (compared to intel modem)
5. I prefer at least 4gb ram
6. I want more than full HD.

In 2018, BB ought to release a Priv 2, one with a keyboard and one without one. Dobly Atmos certified speakers on board would help swoon shoppers. Cheers everyone :-) .

The Priv was probably the worst built device I've ever owned. It rattled and creaked since day 1, plastics felt cheap and the whole thing constantly felt like it was gonna literally fall apart at any moment. Trash.

I use BB phones for more 14 years. What I learned is the last 4 years the BB company is against the people that use BB phones. What do they mean they will not offer no updates for a 2 year old phone?

For example android offers almost 2 billions of apps most for free.
In case of IOS they offer over 1 billion some of them free.
BlackBerry have almost nothing.
Maybe they are ahead but not of IOS nor Adroid.
For me android is best operational system the others are worse or sucks.

Even though I'm an Android guy through and through, I do have to applaud Apple when it comes to customer support. I've known people that weren't even signed up with Apple care that go to a location at the mall, and even though it takes a few hours are almost always well taken care of. But that naturally comes at a price, as we know Apple's product lineup has an outrageously high markup across the board. Want a cheaper flagship, expect extremely limited support, especially in the long run.

Hell, i had my Nexus 5 with the SD 800 and i wasn't much of an upgrade to be honest. The 808 was like a 5% upgrade in performance and the 810 suffered from thermal issues.
Guess BlackBerry was overwhelmed with so many smartphone brands doing better for less that the market share loss was imminent. Hell, the snapdragon 820/821 and 835 was such a success that there are more flagships devices than ever.
Guess this year was the best year of flagships. Including me, i found a worthy upgrade from my nexus 5 to the oneplus 5T.
What's your opinion in that regard?
