I mostly agree with this rank of the best camera phones 2017, in which Pixel 2 is at the top. Samsung galaxy 8 and also iPhone X are also good camera phones. Let the picture itself revealed the quality of each phone's camera. I see that chinese phone like Xiaomi and Huawei just pretend to be good at camera phone photography but I only see that they are just pretended to be good but in fact is a different story. So the rank overall is objective and unbiased.

yes lumia950 has an awesome camera,
i had this phone, but no way it beats the iPhone x's camera

Xiaomi Mi Note 3 is not included here due to GSMArena hasn't review yet..

Even if the Lumia 950 is aging now, it still performs very well.
Okay, it only records 4K at 30FPS due to the SnapDragon 808 (810 for the XL version) but hey, the single 20MP beats the iPhone X in all conditions !

I was with someone working for Apple and was amazed by the quality of pictures taken with the Lumia. He clearly said to me that the iPhone X is great for everything but my Lumia is perfect for people wanting a non-compromising smartphone for pictures even if there's a lack for apps (mainly Snapchat because for others, you have them either officially, either 3rd party apps that are better).

Honestly The Lumia 950 still beats almost all these phones and its two years old and I've taken pictures with the X and beat the crap out it.

Actually that makes me remember 808, that came with most of futuristic features we see today. With package better than most phones today. 1.The sharpest one-shots. I know there are phones capable of merging them or ones with small fov. Overall resolution is less however, even 1020 as you could use 3rd party app to unlock full sensor shooting, meaning closest to 41mp it can be with small black rounded corners - same "cool" thing as todays screens.
2.coprocessor and noiselessness of shots be it 41mp in day and dusk/dawn or 8/5/3mp in night(not sure about all) using pixel blending to point of crazy(besides sony even samsung plans to do that in its camera hw).
3.umatched zoom-in, even now in details thx to using same aperture of same sensor, high resolution per fov, big pixels.
                  4. high definition audio - stereo and up to 140dB, who can say or even boast about that if they got just mono mic or their records of loud concert tear ears.
5.fully manual settings, not just look alike that will do what it wants anyway.
6.the brightest flash - xenon one, maybe even among phones with xenon too.
7.hardware camera shutter, its same as hw call/end call, turn on/off, keyboard(for some users&devices), you cannot use screen to fully replace that, same way as you cannot control atomic core with intel processor.
That was not the best camera phone of 2017, but It was way more significant to remember than any phone released until now, at least for me. I wait/hope that there is some new device that can overshadow it. Still waiting.

You should've realized there's more than just one picture, and I must say none of them really test low light (such as in a pub or disco). It's a great test if your life is all about photographing mostly monuments/still objects in good light, if not... not so good.

                                Samsung did surprisingly poorly

Anonym, 18 Dec 2017Isn't Android a Google OS?Pure Android yes. But since it's free to use by other manufactures, they will put their own touches on it and modify it as they see fit.

AnonD-707763, 17 Dec 2017i will go for the S8You will not be dissapointed :)

Anonymous, 18 Dec 2017It's called cognitive dissonance. They prefer to suck it up... moreYeah, I see. Couple of my friends also suffer from this too, hard to talk about electronics with them as all they understand is the brand of their choice and the actual quality does not matter to them. Brand loyalty makes my head explode, but well - not my issue! :-)
