Case renders confirm only the Samsung Galaxy S9+ will have a dual camera

19 December 2017
Olixar was right on the money for the Note8 design and this year it shows that the base S9 will stick with a single camera setup.

They are letting name and consumer foolishness get the best of them. I hope with everything in me it back fires bad and they come close to destruction in order to humble themselves. But we all know that wont happen.
Even if it did it would only be temporary because they would get ballsy eventually and people are just too foolish to stand up. Or lazy until something is directly effecting them specifically badly.

If this is true, what deception. A expensive smartphone with only a unique front camera in these days is a way back. A second camera for zoom will be welcome.

I’m interested to see what dual camera set will be Obviously optical 2x zoom same as the note but what about the main camera. I want to see a bigger improvement it’s basically been the same since the S7 .

They wont call it the S9 now that the iPhone 10 is out.... because inferiority complex

Anonymous, 20 Dec 2017Samsung and Google both copying Apple, but in different way.A lot of copying goes on around the smartphone industry, samsung out of many do "listen" to consumers. They are probably going to use the same fingerprint sensor as the 8 series but they at least moved it below the cameras. There are other rumors that the battery will be bigger unlike apple who downed the battery size with their latest offerings. Not to mention samsung (and lg) are some of the few players left with a headphone jack on their flagships.

Look, I am a big phone kinda guy so naturally I am much more attracted to the s plus series .

BUT, what samsung is doing right now is straight up discrimination against people with smaller hands or that simply want a smaller device and that is NOT OK.

I think the S series was good the way it was on the S8 . Same phone . Different sizes for different people .

seriously you guys dig the fake bokeh effect?

This dual lens gimmick is a real waste of space in a phone, restricts the designer, and produces obvious artificial results. Google Pixel have blatantly proven that single lens can do the trick (even better sometimes) so why have dual lenses when true bokeh can come from a single lens camera... (haven't even mention Dslr cameras)

A wiseman once said, "When you copy Apple, you copy their virtues.... and their mistakes."

Samsung seems to be copying Apple's positioning of iPhone 8 and 8 Plus. And there lies their biggest mistake...
Would any normal multimedia user prefer spending $700 on a single camera phone, where the double camera phone costs $800 or so?

They should go for another differing factor between S9 and S9+. I didn't like the idea of removing a camera.
The size difference concept so far was excellent for Samsung:- Have a smaller screen, miss some non-essential features and you got a mini-flagship.
