[deleted post]Lol, everybody knows that Apple SOC's are way faster than Qualcomm's offer. Qualcomm is to cheap to add more L1 and L3 cache onto their processors. And yes, Apple A9 is still very capable, it beats all those Snapdragons on gaming and video encoding. Exynos is better than shitcomm.

So cute, my iPhone 6s+ from 2015 scores 2560 single core. Qualcomm sucks.

Anonymous, 20 Dec 2017SD845 can shoot 4k at 60Actually the note8 can be modded to do this already if it has the better Exynos chip but as usual they had to cripple it to be the same as the Qualcomm variant. Check XDA

            good job samsung. keep innovating

Anonymous, 20 Dec 2017Im no expert at this so correct me if im wrong But at thi... moreYou are correct up to an extent....
it is true as long the CPU uses the ARMv8-A instruction set. but considering the software was swappable inside the CPU itself. if the monsoon could run x86 instruction set... it's not better than i3 5th gen...
and true about the limit pushing. the most task demanding app We can find (THAT IS NOT A BENCHMARK!) are games that rely on the Unreal Engine 4. (I have linked my note 8 to a special device that monitors CPU, GPU, I/O, RAM and STORAGE. (Work equipment.)
              and the result is surprising:
Since the equipment monitored ONLY the app that ran in foreground. (As it's our subject)
for the EMEA version (Exynos 8895) CPUs were on avarage load (all eight cores) of about 52% (game tested was Lineage: revolution) with the mongoose cores working at full speed.)
RAM spent on game was an insane amount of about 500 MB in every moment.
and the GPU. it's hilarious. just 6 cores of TWENTY were dedicated to the game!
those are the crucial details. a true consumption of all resources possible... is only achievable by benchmarks.
AHEM. yeah. sorry for my rumble. but you are pretty much correct all in all.
the issue is. that people. (including me) want the phones to be about the same level as a typical PC. (why? whims. is my assumption! XD)

Anonymous, 20 Dec 2017It is greatly unimpressive. This single core score is taken... moreQualcomm has patent rights in the states that hold back Samsung from using Exynos in those phones.

Samsung used to have most ram. Note2 was awesome with 2gb ram and it was class leading. My Asus Zenfone 2 in 2015 had 4gb ram already. Shamesung.

But at this point mobile processors are powerful enough tbh we have not seen anything the completely pushes the note 8 to its limits let alone the A11 so from the mundane position i stand the power we have now is enough
But i cannot stress enough how i want cpus to become more energy efficent ik we are already streaching moores law to its limit to the point where one transistor is only around 36 atoms wide....so ofc well see neglagible increase in performance and i honestly dont care about that
For the normal user like me i want battery all day and a beautiful display for viewing of my content snaps youtube etc
If i wanted enough power to do vedio editing id just invest in a computer with a full sized i7 or i9

Oh man it will cost 1000+ and the specs will be almost same as S8 great.
Apart from Having SD 845 which is like 10% faster on paper and 2% on real performance from S8 everything will be practicaly same.
Samsung offers n major upgrade except the price of the product which will cost 300 less 3 months after release.
To be having the app loaded in 2 seconds or 2.2 secondsmakes no sense to buy lot more expensive device.
I am happy with my Moto X4 and lenovo Vibeshot.

Who gives a stuff about benchmarks?? It's not real world use and majority of phones especially Samsung end up lagging in the real world of usage
