13 July, 2011
RIM is obviously not having the best of times recently, but it certainly hasn't lost its fighting spirit. The company plans to launch seven new BlackBerry smartphones before this year has ended...

Just waiting for BBB 9900. I wish if RIM can have a bigger battery like the one for SE Duo of 2.500mAh. This will make Bold 9900 the best selling phone.

if all these models do not have:
                1. front facing camera that can be used for 3G/WiFi video call
                2. skype support

then good luck to blackberry. you have just dug 7 more holes to bury yourself in.

Zimbabwe_BB, 14 Jul 2011People in US think iphone is the phone, outside USA iphone ... moreBBs are enjoying healthy adoption rates here in Malaysia/SEA region too but you're missing the bigger picture. How? Right now ALL Malaysian carriers slashed down the top 3; Torch, Bold and Curve models down from "insane" level RRPs just to move those off on contracts. Unlocked? I'm talking about top end Androids and iPhone 4 16's level RRPs. That's how much subsidies are being wasted on each and every BB and trust me when I say that the carriers' insiders aren't really happy since it's getting harder and harder for them to keep that "triple play" (BBs, Android & iOS) in balance when now they're seeing their Androids and iPhones gain faster traction day by day. And trust me when I say that a growing number of tech savvier crackberry addict are now realizing that he/she are paying 2010/11 RRPs for what's technically 2008 tech. I don't care how anyone slice or dice about BBM, BES and BIS you just can't go on and piss off the loyal user base that way for so long.

Having that said I don't think that even the most hardcore crackberry addict would have asked for 7 OS 7 phones at this stage. That's just crazy. Pick the form factors that's manageable and easier to focus on (personally it should come down to just 3; Torch (QWERTY slider), Bold (the standard) and whateverthehellisthatsuperphoneMonzathing full touch), bump the specs up to relevancy (and by this I don't necessarily mean standing by to drop a Kal El into the mix fcol. Just stick to >current< generations of SoCs (w/ capable GPUs), downclock 1 or 2 for batt life if it's doable and don't skimp on anything else such as ROM/RAM capacities etc. In short just enough headroom for the OS and a nice batt life compromise WHILE NOT gripping it on its balls) and yes someone should do something to freshen up the overall industrial designs just a wee bit more. And if QNX's really coming for the phones then it's for sure as hell that these 7 upcoming models can't be half assed.

That and a new skunkwork team are needed to figure out how not to piss carriers all over the world off on the NOC deals.

why bb not compete to other smartphone?

because its overpriced with poor features, poor spec, limited application, poor performance that why i dont like BB

BB need to make great device, nice performance, excellent features and spec.... like samsung,lg,se,htc really worth it to buy....

If you text and send emails all the time there is still no subsitute for a BB. If you must have your emails on time BB is the only way to go.
In countries like Indonesia where I am BB is king but they had better get a move on as Samsung in particular is making in roads.
Lets hope the new round of mobiles will sustain BB's position. They cannot just rely on their email and messaging systems alone in face of competing cheap android devices.

RIM and BlackBerries are the best working tool, far more better than droids and iPhone. I personally use a BB at work and a droid when out of it.
Best battery usage ever, over two days with 4 push mail accounts and 3 social networks. None of my droids, and I've used over 40 different handsets over last two years, has given me a full day without recharging
