Anonymous, 27 Dec 2017Did you read the article: "OnePlus' Face Unlock feature ... moretrue, apple's face id is a smart implementation which works flawlessly even in low light. The oneplus 5T struggles hardly at night, taking as much as a whole 2 seconds to unlock or not even unlocking at all. But i love the onelpus 5T no matter what. for once i love that screen and how the bezels are in that phone.
The iphone X has huge side bezels all around the phone which in my opinion in unpleasant and i really dislike that huge notch. Hopefully it won't become a trend.

"OnePlus' Face Unlock feature is only available on their flagship OnePlus 5T. It's a much simpler version of the technology used on the iPhone X as it uses just the front facing camera. This allows it to be much faster but at the same time, less secure. As such, it is only available for unlocking your phone unlike Apple's implementation."

TheLostWanderer, 25 Dec 2017Am I only one seeing this "feature" as unnecessary? Honestl... moreI agree with you.

I am wondering if face unlock came first, would there be this rush for a fingerprint scanner.

Fingerprint scanner / biometric works all this unnecessary development just to follow Apple.

All this as people wanted to unlock their phones faster

Am I only one seeing this "feature" as unnecessary? Honestly, you have to adjust for your phone every time just to unlock. I rarley even use fingerprint reader, symbol or password are what I use most often, anyways fingerprint scanner is awesome feature, just put finger and you are there! But this? Phone lies on the table and you want a quick glance on notifications - well you need to pick it up and bring to your face to unlock lol...

I think both 5T deserves the same level of value of the market for this upgrade. There was manfactorutur's cost added in but in the same level. The market will set price and I have faith that the company will be pleased. I'm I think that happens next Friday.

Anonymous, 25 Dec 2017What's the point of a security feature that's not secure? ... moreWell they added on 5T where it meant sense cause the fingerprint sensor is on the back and when someone need to log in to device they just use face unlock without reaching to the fingerprint so it's ok if it was less secure since it only unlock your device and not use it for payment or anything like that... But Apple don't have fingerprint so they have to rely only to face unlock so it got to be secured

Either do well (as Apple did), or don't bother with gimmicks....
