Got my pixel 2 yesterday. Rock solid wifi at work, does not work at home. It connects to my wifi, but claims there is no internet. The connection comes and goes, while the phone keeps reconnecting to my wifi continuously. Tried to do factory reset without reading setting from my old phone, tried to reconnect network, tried safe mode and every other option, besides static IP address allocation. Not sure what the problem is. I saw somebody suggesting DNS problem, will check that. But, this sh*t should not be happening to a phone that costs that much. You expect wifi to work on $40 device. I am very disappointed so far.

Hi, it looks like Moto X4 (I personally have Amazon edition of it but other people reporting have Android One version) having serious issues on google wifi mesh (and also on other mesh systems). My totally new phone was not able to connect to the main wifi, only to guest.
I've done it all - restarted my mesh network, my phone, looked for any latest updates (everything was up to date), nothing helped. I was able to connect it once while sitting next to the main wifi point but when I went to the next room phone lost connection. Other devices, including my old Moto G3, worked just fine. After that I was never able to connect to the main wifi again, even after I reset my phone and started it all over. I read people with various new Moto phones ( Moto X4, Moto G5 Plus) have similar issues and so far Lenovo support doesn't has an answer. At this point I'm not sure what is the problem - google mesh wifi, Moto phones,... Since Pixel and Pixel 2 phones have the same problems I'm pretty sure it's mesh wifi not working well with these phones. I'm really afraid to get another phone now as it could have the same problems because of mesh routers.

I had this issue with my PixelXL connecting to my google WiFi. The solution was to reserve an IP address for your phone so that it always has a spot on the system. Now everything works GREAT. No drops, No connection issues.

AnonD-428442, 26 Dec 2017Yup, but all the tech bloggers have google up their behinds... moreOnly JerryRigEverything roasted Google Pixel 2 in durability test. He really roasted them well. Other youtubers seem to be ignoring everything Google screwed up.

TheLostWanderer, 25 Dec 2017Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL are a joke. Expensive joke. If I... moreYup, but all the tech bloggers have google up their behinds. I mean most of them have income from Google/Youtube ads, so they will keep praising Google. It's up to the rest of the consumers to not let themselves be taken advantage of by Google.

                Expensive joke.

If I wanted to pay for a phone so much more that it's worth I would rather buy an iPhone X - it would atleast work properly, and actually has wireless charging, not to mention speed difference between the two...

Yet another blog about problems with the Pixel. I bought one in early November and have not had any of the issues reported by these "tech" sights. humm. I wonder whats behind all the bad press.

Karma as for months I had a problem with my iPhone doing the same thing on a Google WiFi mesh network. Google didn’t rush out a fix but I resolved it by switching the network to IPv6.

                    Merry Christmas all

Anonymous, 25 Dec 2017Im sorry for not knowing this but what is a mesh network setup? It is a collection of access points that share one connection under the same SSID. It is often used in big houses, malls, public places ect... Ths main advantage is that you can get seamless transition between the access points, giving you the best signal at all times.
