was already running a november patches since early december... stability is another story since mine auto restarted several times and instagram and reddit crashed at least once a week.

Moto promised monthly security updates and oreo update, Moto g5 plus users are still in nougat 7.0, moto cheated customers, don't buy moto devices if you want regular updates

Think about it, how do these OEMs make money? They make money by selling you NEW phones, not updating your OLD ones. Thus there's no reason for them to do updates other than lip service for new comer (eg. HMD Global), or for flagship customers.

2. Even if it was stock, it doesn't translate into updates. Just like other OEMs, only the flagship get the most attention (in Lenovo's case, the Z series). The G is a mid-range, and won't get too much attention.
