And then that illusive 32gb/4Gb RAM EU model, why did they even release it when it's so rare and most of them are 32gb/3gb ram in EU? Why not just 64gb/4Gb in EU...

It's a way cheaper than its price in Indonesia. The Indonesian version is 4/33 which is the price when pre-order was 2,999,999 IDR ( about 1,500 INR). The price at 11.11 and 12.12 deals was 2,899,999 IDR (about 1,450 INR). Now the price increases to 3,333,333 IDR (1,660 INR).

Not just because of Mi A1, but since this phone doesn't have Magnetometer Sensor (for digital compass). This should've been the best daily phones for Uber-alike drivers. Cheap moves from Motorola for that since the US version of G5s Plus has it, but with a drawback of no NFC. The trade-in for Global Version (Indian, Indonesian, etc) is weird though. Why it can't have both? NFC and Magnetometer and BOOM! This is the best bang for your bucks.

It is running 32 bit android on 64 bit hardware. Why will motorola do such a thing ?.

Mi A1 is its only matching primary competition. So the price drop is to cater the recent price drop of A1!!
All other 18:9 ratio phones are not in the league who prefers these two, becoz none offers stock OS experience. Honor 9i/7x is nearby closer for money who prefer similar performance but can sacrifice on stock nature..

It will be a tough task for Moto.
With Mi A1 around for the same tag, with a promised timely updates by Google, it will be tough to compete for Moto.

Even if Moto sports nearly vanilla Android, it cannot guarantee the updates and support which Android one Mi A1 promises.
