"succumbs to thermal throttling " ... lol, talking of halfwits.

Having said that, this is only partially true, for example Exynos 8890 would thermally throttle more heavily than SD 820 but in day-to-day tasks it would perform better. That is because there are medium to low loads when mobile computing is concerned (mobile gaming is -of course- another issue altogether).

Of course you wouldn't know that because all you do is reading one instance from some site that may as well have methodological issues, or simply care about the general picture, instead of running your own test suites.

I repeat. Kirin SoCs are some of the fastest out there (in real time performance). Now if you want to stress them in such a way so that to make them seem weaker be my guest, all I'm saying is that most don't ... Peace.

BTW no benchmark shows Exynos 8895 of S8 being more than 10% faster than Exynos 8890 of S7. In fact it's the same chip (CPU wise) slightly overclocked and able to withstand more continuous load (which can be important). GPU wise it quite better though.

Unless you're a gamer Samsung duped you, sorry.

I don't know what else to say on what I just read.
S7 being better than S8? Despite benchmarks and speed tests on internet showing otherwise you are stating this... here, on the internet, stating that you are an expert and then basically saying - benchmarks are useless, other speed tests aswell, Samsung produces lag machines and their newer generation flagship is worse than previous one.
Even tho, by your professional opinion, Samsung is just rubbish, and Samsung is for some reason dominating the market.

You do realize how this looks like?

S8 User, 12 Feb 2018Ofcourse you can't compare 2014 flagship to 2017 flagship..... moreApparently you do need to run those tests. S7 is almost universally faster than S8. Better RAM management means that it keeps more apps in memory, which means that it loads and reloads less. Exynos 8890 being 95% as fast as Exynos 8895 means further that you do not see much difference even when similar workloads are tried. You only see a difference after multiple minutes of heavy working (say playing a game or even video/photo encoding for several minutes). Yeah Samsung pulled a trick with S8 ... being a tester meant that I was in a position to dissuade people from buying it (if performance was all they cared about). Of course it has better camera, slightly better screen (but also worse battery) so there' s that...

It's slow when compared to my S8, but still not that slow to call it lag. And you earlier described even S6 as lag machine which is ridiculous. And yes, you say that you are professional and you ran tests... but I don't even need to do a single test to know that for example, S7 is slower than S8, or that iPhone7 runs slower than iPhone X... The S5 still runs faster than some midrangers with same RAM, and also has better screen and camera than those midrangers.

It definitley isn't as fast as S7 or S8 (jeez, who would of thought that 2014 flagship runs slower than 2017 flagship...) but it definitley isn't lag machine as you called it.

You merely have accustomed yourself to it, that's why you don't call it lag. Your phone delays (lags) all the time, you merely don't take hint of it.

Use iPhone 7 even for a day and then get back to S5 ... it's frustratingly slow by comparison (yeah, I run tests in both; iPhone 7 is about 2 rounds ahead as compared to S5 in the first minute that I'm running a test suite)...

S8 User, 11 Feb 2018You see, you tell me that S5 lags, and I sometimes use one ... moreYes, that is exactly what I'm telling you.

In testing environments we use the term "delay". Lag is a form of delay. So yeah your phone lags when it reloads an app for the nth time because it has/had too little memory to keep it on it.

In fact that's *exactly* what I'm telling you. Your phones is twice as slow as an S7 (with 4GB of RAM) and you don't notice, nor call it lag. Whilst it very much is. Reloading apps on android is a no-no. It kills the battery that much faster and with apps getting all the more resource hungry as time pass by you're seeing even more loading screens than ever before.

Yes your phone lags. If not in the sense that you mean it, certainly in the sense that it reloads most apps from one point forwards...

So, are you trying to tell me that it's actually lagging but we aren't smart enough to notice? And that I should believe you because you said it here, on the internet and also wrote that you are professional? I don't want to call you a liar, but sorry, I'll believe my own eyes rather than you. In meanwhile, try to think of reason (or excuse) why this S5 doesn't lag. Since at your first comment, you said that even S6 lags, and I doubt that S6 is worse than S5.

And I know plenty of people still using their S5 and none complained about it.
And, you never answered my question about then how come that there's plenty of S3 users who don't have issues.
It's unusual how most of the people who say information that don't seem to be real, claim that they are some kind of professionals, especially when someone tells them otherwise, based on their real life experience.
