Yep, there's a phone that never gets broken whatever you do to it. Try searching for SONIM phones here. GSM Arena even have a video of the phone being tortured.

AnonD-12176, 18 Jul 2011My iphone 3gs fell 8times on solid concrete floor and just ... moreActually iPhone is the most undurable phone i know. Almost anyone i know good, who has had an iPhone, lost it by letting it fall and they just broke the screen. It is the MUCH bigger impulse and the consequentional tension inside the phone is much bigger on the hardware, because of the super hard casing.

Anonymous, 19 Jul 2011Sure you can get two Android phones for the price of an iPh... moreYeah, Android really sucks, because it lets you make it to your own unique device and all iDevices are the same. Overheating problems are already over on the Galaxy S2 since 2.3.4 release. Overheating means its temperatur is on a level, where your chip can easily burn out. So there is no overheating here, other than on A5, where they just dont release it, because its really damaging the chip. THATS THE DIFFERENCE. People who think, that it is even possibil, that such high clocked devices in such small cases, with no good heat pipes or active cooling, just passive cooling, could run, without becoming warm, have no idea of electro tech and dont know that a proceccing unit today is way smaller than the CPU chip you buy, most of it is heat transportation. Maybe 7% of the total size of a cpu is actually the CPU itself. If you have a dualcore in a device it becomes warm, there is no way around it. Look at most PCs. You buy a CPU and need, if you want to have a good one, a really big cooler, so it can run normally. Heat will be the next big problem for next gen Smartphones and if Apple doesnt use Magic to cool its devices, it will have the same issues, than every other company and if you believe it or not, in an iphone is normal tech, not some Steve Jobs special iOS power dark force. So get over it, its a race who is the fastest in releasing a CPU and GPU which is faster than the others and doesnt OVERheat, so that it wont break.
heat un= OVER heat
People must understand the differences.

Anonymous, 19 Jul 2011FLASH is slowly dying. Sorry to hurt your feelings. And... moreHahaha, Flash will never really die. Flash is a major part of the Internet and if you believe it or not, people use the internet more on non iDevices and so it wont die so easily. HTML5 might be good enough to do, what flash can, but noones using it. Tell, me one thing: If you buy a phone for two years, do you want, thats everything works today or in 4 years from now, where you will have a different phone. I don't need a 6G network in my Smartphone, because noone is using it right now. Slowly dying would take really really long, because flash is so big and known by most developers. Until you can use your iShit with a good internet experience Apple is already bought by Microsoft or IBM or something like that.

If overheating is the case then A5 will be the best seller in Scandinavia, Russia, Alaska, Partly Canada, Antarctica and of course North n South Poles. Rest of the world may wait for A6 please.

Anonymous, 19 Jul 2011FLASH is slowly dying. Sorry to hurt your feelings. And... moreFlash is "buggy" only if the OS can't take it. Apple doesn't seem to mind putting it on Macs. Most droids out-do iphones with battery life so flash isn't a problem there. Plus, I have a second interchangable battery...maybe iphone 7s will allow you to replace the battery. AT&T offers the same deals on iphones as others so if a smart buyer wants a iphone they can get one. So, no need to be a hater. If iphone had all if this to include the sd card and hdmi (or dlna) that you did't have an answer for, you'd be on Steve Jobs' sack even more than you already are. You buy what he chooses to give you. Apple leaves stuff out so you can run back to them next year to buy the "new and improved" version. Fact iis, if apple offered any of this, you would rejoice. Unless you can say that you wouldn't buy an iphone if it had flash, you are making excuses.

1. ... moreFLASH is slowly dying. Sorry to hurt your feelings.
And REAL multi-tasking is the hallmark of poor battery life.
Some of the other features you mentioned may eventually become part of what the iPhone is. The cutting of iTunes... did you not see the keynote for iOS 5????
And again this just sounds like another iHater comment since you fail to see why people buy iPhones. And seriously FLASH is not important... its buggy and crashes and wastes battery life.

I don't know what everyone is getting so stressed about, they are just mobile handsets - it's not as if someone has just insulted a member of your family.
As it has been pointed out in a number of other comments, the article refers to RUMOURS about the delay in the release of the new Iphone, at no point does it state the new Iphone is overheating, and that is the reason.
And as for arguing which operating system is the best, it should come down to which operating system is the best for YOU.
Several of my family and friends have Iphones, and I cannot get used to them. When my contract is due for renewal, I will not be buying an Iphone, for the simple reason I don't find them easy to use - does that make me dumber than an Iphone user... I don't think so, and more importantly I don't care.
Choose a phone based on what is important to you, there is enough choice out there for everyone.
I will say, finally, that if the delay in the release of the Iphone is due to a technical problem like overheating, at least Apple are being decent enough to sort it rather than release a faulty product and then have to rectify it once it is in the field, which would create more cost and inconvenience. Didn't they have to do something like that about the antenna on the Iphone4 when it came out?

dave, 18 Jul 2011seriously, its just a phone.... i mean who actually cares t... moreARe you serious Dave? Phone Racism? are we really gonna see riots in the streets and race related hate crimes about iphones? No! why are you on this website if your not here to argue about mobile phones? thats the point lol and heres my argument - iphones are awesome phones, period. However there are phones out there are phones out there that are better on paper. The main reason apple are so popular is the branding, everyones heard of it and the general concensus in the public eye is that they are the best! i have an iphone maself, purely due to staff discount at vodafone but they are good phones!people are always gonna be interested in new developments from apple, get over it :)
