AnonD-2663, 19 Jul 2011LMFAO... only 11 months after Gingerbread was released. and... moreThe Froyo on the Optimus 3D is good enough for now. October is at this point only 3 weeks away. The only thing I can't do on Froyo is use the front-facing camera in Skype or Google+....but I don't use Skype anyway on my phone as it is such an incredible battery hog. The 3D functionality is more than enough to keep me happy for now. But I will definitely be buying the successor to this phone when become available. 3D is now a must-have feature for me.

Man, that's just awful. I can't seem to understand why GB is just not coming standard on some of these new high end devices. GB is going to be 2 months shy of its 1st birthday by the time this device gets GB. I now have little to no hope that my LG Optimus 2X variant the T-Mobile G2x, will get it any sooner than that, despite the fact that it's running a pretty bone stock version of Froyo.

AnonD-5583, 18 Jul 2011Really? Sounds exaggerated! How can a 2d thing turn 3d auto... moreMy friend, go on Youtube and go to TechnoBuffalo's channel. They have a review of the ATT version of this phone, and he shows that when you take a 2D picture, when it previews the shot you have taken, you can hit "3D" and it changes that picture into 3D. Its some amazing tech

Jut like Samsung, LG updates are pathetic. Unless you have a Nexus line of smart phone your basically out of luck with updates that seem to never come around. I have a Nexus one and get my updates as soon as Google announces them. I have been on 2.3.4 for over a month now on my Nexus one.

For those owners of Optimus 3D you can already on the device convert 2d pictures and movies to 3D on the phone by clicking the 3D button on the side and then adjust the depth of 3D as well. It is a very good attempt as well you can really see it. Who else can do this and then when you get gingerbread the games as well. Who else can have that on their device. The eyes thing is exaggerated as well i watch 3D all the time and its greast viewing all the time. Films like the matrix in 3D think of it.

AnonD-5583, 18 Jul 2011Really? Sounds exaggerated! How can a 2d thing turn 3d auto... moreActually, in 3D games you already know where an item is located in the space, so it should be a matter of rewriting the rendering engine. It is hard to convert a 2D movie in 3D, because in a movie information about the location of objects is lost, but with a game it should be not so difficult...

The iz3D driver on Windows has done a great thing displaying most games in stereoscopic 3D, so what LG's doing is totally possible. Hope I will not be disappointed.

It doesn't sound hard at all, if it's OpenGL it means it makes use of the 3D graphics hardware. It already has to create the 3D data, that would normally just be rendered on 2D screen. As you have a 3D screen on this phone, it can display the depth correctly.

It's not difficult to convert an app that uses 3D graphics on a 2D screen to display in 3D in a 3D screen. Most games can do it on a PC already, the nVidid drivers have it built in, a game just has to enable it.

Really? Sounds exaggerated! How can a 2d thing turn 3d automatically? Anyways anything is possible with fast-paced tech, but still, unless u witness it in reality, it will remain plain exaggeration.

Should get updated from Sharp SH12C International Edition, it's equipped with 3D camera, 3D display without glass, and the converting function from 2D to 3D is acceptable, but 3D display makes my eyes tired. The 3D display is not developed completely I think.
