      Whether you like, love, hate, or feel indifferent about this model... it is one of more affordable products featuring a Snapdragon 835 on the market. I noticed it going for 337$ preowned today on Amazon, and I predict it will go even lower in not super distant future.

Won’t it slow down the phone?It's a patch in the Linux Kernel, and the revised January Patch from Google includes Spectre fixes (The phone is not vulnerable to Meltdown since it's not an Intel Core/Atom and not a A75). And it's the KPTI used to mitigate the Meltdown flaws that are the source of performance degradation.
