There's no information on exactly how many units were up for grabs though.

LMAO!
When a production run from Oppo, for OnePlus, is a couple thousand, it isn't hard to "sell out".

1+ really thinks people got fooled and panic after dozen of phone got out of stock for 2 hours?
if you are really a reliable company you don't need to do this. the phone itself is already good.

The build is amazing , the software is very mature and any bugs are quickly solved. Name another phone that has such a good user experience for the price and dont say Xiaomi because I have owned a few. Please dont talk trash unless you actually have used a device.

this is basically the same as xiaomi.
I wanted to buy xiaomi powerbank in my country online from xiaomi website.
on their Facebook it shows the day and time it will go in stock
however when I saw the post like 10mins late, it already got sold out immediately.
stupid marketing technique by oneplus and xiaomi(Idk if xiaomi changed, correct me if I'm wrong cos this happened 2 yrs ago)
just show off the number u sold, no one cares how long it takes for it to get sold out without showing the amount i sold

What are they trying to show? That they've been too incompetent to estimate sales for the 1000th time?

Anonymous, 10 Jan 2018Why not , phones are very good value for money.No. They are bad for this price. Average but hugely overpriced chinaphones. What making 1+5t so special? Price? Look at zte and honor, for example. They are cheaper but much better. Bad camera. No wireless charging. Proprietary DashCharge that costs too high. No dedicated audio chip. No unique design. Even amoled screen is low resolution (because it's pentile). So what making OnePlus worth it's price? Maybe shameless stoling of private data? If you will remember miserable app Meitu collected even less data - it's disappeared. OnePlus did even worse. But it's still on sale. People sometimes don't want to think and don't want to learn.

Somehow this is getting annoying. The old fashion 'out of stock' marketing. Why do we need to know that? If it out of stock simply replenish your f*king stock. No need to tell the world about it. Even grocery store wont be on news if their mayo out of stock. -_-
