Sony Xperia XA2, XA2 Ultra, and L2 go on pre-order in the US and UK

The handsets are expected towards the end of the month in the UK, and on February 16 in the US.

So I assumed he took those in consideration. Besides both are clearly targeted at different segments, what's the point of comparison anyways? If a guy is shopping for 350 dollar phone, why will he look at 500 one and vice versa? A8 is meant for competition with op5t where it loses badly while xa2 is meant for competition with burgeoning selfie phones where it's pretty competitive except for the screen size... And no I'm not talking about ultra version which goes in different category altogether

      And my S8 literally has around 1.5GB of free RAM all the time, never under 1GB of free RAM. Just S8 has 4GB of RAM while A5 2017 has 3....

          Firstly he might have been comparing the price in UK.
          In UK XA2 is priced at 300£ and A8 around 480£ and XA2 ultra costs 380£.
          If you calculate A8 costs more than 1.5 times that of XA2 and 100 more than ultra.

          Second thing you mentioned A8 screen is half an inch more than Xa2 but
          Xa2 screen area 75.4 cm 5.2
          A8 79.6cm, 5.6 inch, 18:9
          Xa1 plus 83.1cm, 5.5 inch, 16:9
          So the diiference is more like 0.2 inch not half an inch in terms of screen area.
          Lastly you have mistakenly Xa1 instead of Xa2.

            I never experienced any issues on either A5 or S8.

            But, I don't use my phones heawily and I also don't know your usage. I mostly just do the texting and I don't have loads of apps there, I also go to "device maintenance" often to clean stuff up, and do restart here and there.
            I got this habit by having cheap chinese phone before switching back to Samsung. I trust you that it stutters sometimes, just I didn't experience it, and it's possible that's because of way I used it or something else.

I'll choose my IP68 over better software updates any day.I'm Galaxy A5(2017) user and I trust Samsung Fanboys that they said samsung is not lag and no stutter issue anymore. But I feel regret to trust what they said because i'm having stutter issue on my phone. But I like the ip68 spec tho..lol

I'm not a Sony only fanboy. I like Sony, Nokia, HTC, Huawei and Samsung (below flagship). I'm open to other brands for the right product.

                    This site lists the following prices as:
                    XA2: 19,999Rs
                    A8: 29,990Rs
                    My pathetic concept of math from the arse end of the world would consider the A8 to be 1 third more of the price again of the XA2. My apologies for misleading any concerned readers.
                    How about you? Are you sure that your prices are for the correct models because the same site lists the XA2 Ultra and the standard A8 at the same price with the A8+ at 32,990Rs.

                        Besides even if you compare xa1 with a8 ( doesn't make sense due to more than 1/2 inch screen size difference) it's 349 vs 500. 350*1.5 is 525 from what I know. Guess the PR department has lost touch with accounts department. No wonder they are in mess in phones whle having best departments to back them up

                          I would prefer newer operating system versions among ip rating when it comes to a midranger.I mean,it's not like you drop your phone in the water everyday, and if it does,you will try to take it out as soon as possible.Besides,if i'm not wrong,almost every sony phone has some waterproof,even if it's not certificated.

XA2 and it's bigger counterpart, XA2 Ultra has 4K recording, first to implied on Sony midranger since Xperia M5. Sony decided to borrow some of their flagships specs integrated into their midranger (4K recording is one of few them) as they wanted to improving their midrangers further more after XA1 series was the first one to feel the taste of Sony flagship specs, touch and feel. And for batteries, Sony has some optimization on the software itself on their phone, so it can make the phone itself a stellar battery, even it isn't OLED founded on A8 and A8+ (2018). And if you to proof QNOVO tech is really supporting your phone, you need to wait AT LEAST 2 or even 3 years after the phone was powered-up for the first time. Yes, it isn't instant benefits, but at least progress is still welcomed tho. Wireless charging is maybe the future, but if most manufacturer hasn't implied them in most flagship, let alone midranger or even entry-level one, only time could tell. Sony also has improved their IMX400 on their flagship and IMX300 on their midranger phone's algorithm, software and post-processing since 2017 as they developed a better software after Triple Image Sensing on XZ was introduced in 2016 and they're going it. Even one of Android Central journalist said that XZ1 photos are getting better by periodically. Only time as well tell the Xperia camera will par with their rivals such as Apple and Samsung. And last one RGB Matrix and OLED has both pros and cons. RGB Martix biggest advantage are they're didn't have subpixels integrated, so it's where it belongs, better white and Natural colors that always been with Sony and their camera on dedicated one and phone one. But they also moving on to OLED ASAP with their flagship, so wait more.
