A flexible phone is something Applefans can drool over until the release of the iPhone xxx. Even then, it will be far from a flexible phone if it's running ios.

If the designs are like the ones leaked... i think Samsung will have a big problem... Even if they have a good design figured out... they better work hard with google to make it compatible to the new design.... and then getting it mass produced.... see you in 2020.

Foldable display is useless. Instead of that, they should make phones with removable battery.

Anonymous, 14 Jan 2018Come 2020s I dont think you would have any choice..Well, if dumb phones are still produced and sell today... I think I might have some choice. But just I doubt companies like Apple or Samsung will keep making flagships like that, even though I kinda hope they will.

They have led on the consumers to believe that this awesome game changing design is right around the corner, there's no denying that, its a huge insult to the public to show a flexible phone "behind closed doors" at this point.

It is the media that keep assuming Samsung might release this foldable phone 'next year' every year. If you read tech article, everytime Samsung patent regarding this Galaxy X is out every year since 2013, all the media always wrote "We might be seeing Samsung releasing their foldable phone as early as next year. Take it with a pinch of salt." This is what the media always said not Samsung. I know because I read the same thing every year from tech article that is not even confirmed by Samsung themselves.

Interesting to see so many anonymous comments trying to repeat the lie that Samsung has said this will arrive soon, every year. They've never said when this will be ready, until the hint during this year's CES. This is also the first time they're really clarifying that the software (Android) is probably the biggest problem here. Makes me wonder what would have happened if Microsoft would have had an ounce of brains with Windows Phone, ten years ago, and really try to make the Real Windows a mobile option, instead of that locked down thing they tried to sell.

Samsung lies. No foldable in near future. I sure would want one, awesome to carry a tablet that folds into a phone. But this is a trick to hype the brand. To say "next year" every year since 2013, and showcasing products now again as they see fit, is actually a huge disrespect from Samsung to the public. For shame
