Some Google Pixel 2 XL displays have less significant color shift

15 January 2018
Random units regardless of manufacturing date have varying levels of color shift.

I looked up my pixel 2 xl?s IMEI and mine was manufactured Nov 7th and got mine on December 7th. Blue tint is barely noticeable. I came from an S8+ and the "blue tint" is laughable.

AnonD-704307, 15 Jan 2018Consistency has never been lg's strong point. samsung oled isn't consistent either it seems oled is hard to produce consistently.

Anonymous, 15 Jan 2018Two awful company trying to make something prenium, Google ... moreSince when Google is bad at doing phones? The Nexus device were awesome smartphones. LG was the plague, producing the device with awfull quality.
Look at the nexus 5, a brilliant phone, brilliant screen but suffered from bootloop issues that LG is known about.
LG right now produces OLED screens which are priced equally as samsung's but are much inferior in every regard.
Samsung has been producing Amoled screens ages ago, they know what they're doing and every panel just screams quality out of the box.
The pixel 2 XL just came with problems, not made by google but by LG.
Google should be blamed too for putting those cheap panels in their phones but what other option had google? They were partners and the deal was alreayd made.
Hope the pixel 3 will come with a samsung screen panel

pay 800$ and still rely on luck to get a good display.

SOME have LESS SIGNIFICANT color shift???
Phone of that price shouldn't have ANY.
I mean, it only has good camera, no features, not even a headphone jack... and people should be happy that SOME of their phones have less noticeable issues?
Really Google? Your phones don't even have good design, it basically doesn't bring anything to the table and is one of the most expensive ones on the market. Is this really a king of Android?

I've never had this on 3 SuperAmoled phones from Samsung. LG's oled's are just inferior.

If Google would keep pricing like they did for Nexus line, no one would pay much attention on these kind of issues. Now they put themselves as one of most expensive brands, so they need to be almost perfect, but they are far from that

I think most of the people have already decided to skip this one. Tech enthusiast shouldn't waste their time on it any more. In few months new hot thing gonna be S9 and G7. There were a lot of more new techs at CES which could have been covered instead of reports like this.
