Where is next midrange kirin chip?Kirin 659 is already midranger why do you need another within a year of span.. Kirin 659 competes with SD625 which doesn't got significant successor apart from overclocked variants so far except SD636 which is yet to make..
Moreover Huawei is not competing with Qualcomm, they are just eliminating dependencies on QC with their homegrown SOCs as like Samsung.
Regarding Kirin 659's successor, Huawei needs to seriously reiterate the GPU inside to effectively compete with QC's midranges!!

Everything Huawei do doesn't make any sense anymore.
Dual cameras for mid rangers, yet only one is actually being used. Would've been happy if that secondary camera actually benefits on to something like better quality images or what.
Let's just say that bokeh, or should I say "fake bokeh," is in high demand now. The best way of doing it is in software, even a single camera can do it (read: Google Pixel 2/2 XL). Instead of having an even larger single sensor, the extra space was wasted by the unnecessary secondary mediocre sensor. Who knows, maybe they could've put larger battery inside if the secondary camera wasn't there.
Who would get this Huawei when others like Asus with the old Zenfone 3 5.5" basically offers more and better, sans small bezels and 18:9 screen ratio.

I think Prasad was right when he said that 2017 was wasted when it comes to Cameras, they're using double cameras more as a distraction than as a value addition.
The actual quality didn't increase by much, in the entire 2017...
Suppose you did get a $2 and 2 megapixel additional camera, what's the significant benefit?

It's really NarrowVie, nothing "full" about it. For the same size (Length + width) you gat less screen compared to a 16:9 phone with the same dimensions (And it even has fingerprint sensor on the front occasionally).
