4G speeds in US recover after unlimited plans crashed them

18 January 2018
The introduction of unlimited plans in early 2017 brought down 4G speeds, but things are improving now.

USA is really far behind the rest of the world! In Sweden I have truly unlimited 4G, no restrictions at all, with download speeds of 80-150 Mbps, including 100 GB 4G data in USA if I visit USA!

AnonD-464144, 19 Jan 2018Please dont speak on what you don't know. I just got 119 Mb... moreMost people dont get that. It also depends on towers, region, and tower quality and quantity.
Its hilarious when people like you tell people to not comment on things yhey dont know about when your comment ironically shows you have no idea what you are talking about.

Vegetaholic, 19 Jan 2018It makes sense, to keep networks intact without overloading... moreYes people who use their rights or dont have normal intetnet are greedy. Noy the companies over charging for crappy networks and not improving them for such loads

It makes sense, to keep networks intact without overloading them by greedy users you needed to cap speeds

I live in NYC. A city that has almost as many people as your entire country. Tell me, how are those speeds up in say, a small town in Lapland? Probably not as fast as it is in Stockholm? Probably.

                    [deleted post]What??

Well, here in India we consider high-speed Internet, If a youtube video plays without buffering at 720p. Most of people (not just here, everywhere) don't know difference between kBps and kb/s.

Ah, it's still much much better than internet access in my country. High prices and no unlimited plans (all of data plans have quota). Also, only around 40-50% people are reported using 4G here, and it's not and in many places you can be still stuck in even 2G.

Oh please. These americans whine about their service. Come to india. Then they'll know what slow internet really means. Been to viet, phil, thai, sing, even their 3G, in some places only when you travel, is still fast.

I have freakin' 750Mbps LTE but the data prices are simply absurd. Gimme half the speeds and unlimited data! Even just 1/4th!

I often wonder about this in my country..
Whether it's because data is becoming cheaper and cheaper, that the networks are getting slower and slower.. hmmm..

why would i pay for 20, 30 or 100 mbps LTE speed if it is so limited and expensive? i prefer slower speed but unlimited data. LTE is supposed to server 100 mbps to 100000+ people and blablabla, obviously this is a fake to let us know they offer more than they actually give us, but if data is unlimited i don't care about 10 or 15 mbps speeds.
