AnonD-625430, 19 Jan 2018The new Nokias are like body without soul. Don't get me wro... moreI wouldn't say "soul" but rather features. Especially Symbian phones had certain features that were distinguishably Nokia like clear and loud 2-way call recording, fm-transmitter, quick torch button-toggle, user-replaceable batteries, great camera's and indeef that build-qaulity. Of which only the build-quality remains.

They also had the some terrible annoyances like using tbe same underpowered cpu. Unfortunately HMD seems to have inherited that same nasty habit. Why do they use the underpowered SD630 in both the Nokia 6 and 7. Even an old SD652 would be more powerful (and appreciated) then these cortex-a53 based SOCs. :-(

Lightning McQueen, 20 Jan 2018Stop talking about Symbian or Meego OS!!! Symbian is dead. ... morewtf you smoking, I was responding to an earlier post about Nokia not having a soul ...and my response is very simple, despite the OS, whether Symbian, Windows or Android ...Nokia maintains it's soul through the hardware quality and design they make ...and the current generation, especially the Nokia 8, is an Evolution of past devices starting with Nokia N8 and Nokia 800

SO where in all this did I specifically talking about Symbian and MeeGo ...I suggest you either read actual post before responding ...or learn how to read before reading, so you can learn to respond according to the subject.

i expect them to land with a shitty lineup since hmd has just rode on the nokia hype till now ,will be interesting to see them with asha line up once again

The new colors are cray good. I mean, their is something about this colors that just represent Nokia. So, the only thing that is missing from Nokia soul, is the innovation. They always came with something new in devices. Something groundbracking, this ones are just anothr android. But better builded reals software updates, real security updates and, android without crappy apps. Oh, yeah. Nokia 8 actually has somethin new 360 audio recording. While is not groundbrscking, it is something new.

I hope Nokia 7 is launched with 18:9 screen within 5.5 inch height and slimmer in width and profile.

AnonD-625430, 19 Jan 2018The new Nokias are like body without soul. Don't get me wro... moreBack in the days of Symbian, all phones running Symbian felt the same ...what made them different was their hardware and phone design. Nokia phones always had their own distinguished look with quality build ...so that's what makes the soul of Nokia devices and todays devices, in my opinion, still feel that way. The current Nokia 8 for example, feels and looks like an updated, thinner and more premium version of Nokia Lumia 800/920.

It's like an evolution of those devices. So whether it's Windows or Android, it still feels like a Nokia device ...and if still feels like a Nokia regardless of the OS, then it really must be the hardware/design that makes the soul of a Nokia device.

Searching on Industry Canada's website (IC, and is mandatory to sell here radio equipments) , there are no TA1016 models. Only the following: TA1025 TA1027 TA1028 TA1035 TA1036

                      That makes the following devices:
                      Nolia 6
                      Nokia 5 (2 variants)
                      Nokia 2 (2 variants)
                      Nokia 3310

They wont sell much of these here...

One of the great appeals of the former Nokia devices was the qualitative software suite that Nokia developed for their devices, such as HERE Maps, photo editors, video editors, outstanding camera apps, etc.

The bare-bone approach to Android is lacking all of that. I suppose we can hope Treble (if it works as intended) gives HMD and Nokia the ability to develop the same apps again, without jeopardizing the fast and lengthy updates HMD promise.

I suppose the older devices also had funky colours and iconic designs, which were a bit toned down in the first batch of devices released by HMD. Probably to help them establish themselves on the market before they try new things. We'll see how the second year is handled. Rumours are there's some pretty great things coming.

The new Nokias are like body without soul. Don't get me wrong. I'm still as much as a Nokia Fan as I used to be during the Symbian Days. Except build quality, which has been synonymous with the Nokia name, there's nothing Nokia about the new HMD Nokia phones line up. No soul.
