I'm still using phone that use Helio X10. Still can play games without problem. I don't think MTK is bad.

no open source is one thing, poor update on the hardware issue is another thing. My first MTK phone is a Lenovo, then second is Redmi Note 2, which both went into trash can at the end. Smart phone is now a necessity, need something very reliable and longevity.

Why don't they just make the number of GPU cores into 12 or atleast 8 instead of 4 cores?

It's all well and good having decent specs but mtk devices are notorious for hardly getting updates, if things on that front improve consumers will have more confidence in the soc

Only those cheap china replika brands use MediaTek. Bleahh..
