Lol, they're not lying when they talk of merely app opening/closing performance, just search for any YouTube speed test video comparing the two. However, I upgraded from a OnePlus One to a Note 8 for more than merely app opening/closing performance. The Note 8 simply offers a whole lot more uses with the S-Pen and its feature-packed hardware/software, I'd sound almost like a sales man if I posted the loads of advantages it has over the OnePlus 5T to make up for that price difference...but feel free to ask if interested.
