I really don't know what's with all the fanbabies crying for Oreo. Almost EVERYTHING that comes with Stock Android Orea is already doable on Samsung's feature-packed skin on Nougat, including picture-in-picture view.

Plus, loads of their system apps/components get seamlessly updated via the Play Store or Galaxy App Store, making the need for a whole new OS next to pointless. Be it my Note 8's S-Pen Air Commands, Edge Screen/Panels, Always on Display, Bixby Home + Voice + Vision + Dictation, Car Mode, Theming engine, Webview engine, Camera, System fonts, Screen Capture, Kids Mode, Sound Assistant, Web Browser, Samsung Pay + Notes + Keyboard + Health+ Calendar + Connect + Email + Pass, Calculator, Messages, Home Screen Launcher, the App Store itself, etc. They all periodically get stability/versatility/security/compatibility updates via the Play Store or Galaxy App Store, independent of the OS. So, a whole new OS update would merely be a firmware number change, no significant added uses...I don't know about you guys, but I much value uses of my tools over merely their firmware number.

Doesn't matter how many updates you get, as long as it's good. Like in life, hard work pays off, long beta test shows Look at the Oreo in beta compete with IPhone X, Pixel 2XL, and 5T, it destroys em! So at least I know Samsung will give a quality update that won't slow your phone. Even the ram management is better, keeps your heavy running task opens, go check it out by that Xeetech dude or whatever his name is.

As I already told that Oreo update will given Samsung to devices in feb just before the launch of S9.. Samsung did the same thing last year... so only I am saying...

So, the S8 will get Oreo, after the S9 is presented with it...

Should be the beta 8.1, not 8.0.
Phone was too expensive ( still is in many locations) and should have run 8.0 already.

Samsung's software update policy is very annoying. Updates come very slowly even for flagships and often they are buggy.
