Micro SD Card slot is small, doesn't get that much in the way and yet, you seems to persist that getting rid of it was the right choice. No, giving the user an option is the way forward.

You just need to be logical and know your stuff (aka the existence of USB OTG, so often forgotten).

Oh wait, there already is, it's called USB OTG and is fully supported by the Mi6 (and many others before it).

I like mid-range, like the RN3 Pro or Mi Max, it's good and feature packed while using a good SoC. But sadly it has no true successor. The RN4x and Mi Max 2 uses weaker SoC and a major stepback when comparing it to it's predecessor.

I already have two maxed out 64GB micro SD card (because my phone only support 64GB micro SD card). While I rarely game anymore, it's data (incl. update) could went beyond 2GB each. So yeah, a nice future proof phone should keep it's sd card slot, since we have went to the point of good mid range SoC that won't lag over the time (I'm using a stable custom ROM)

even a Samsung Galaxy S8+ only capable to use a 256GB sd card with a hybrid sim slot

If you are xiaomi user, u know this..
if you are interest with this flagship, then you know UFS will be fine (they use UFS since Mi5).
But when you cry baby asking microSD , thats definitely trolling..
If you dont like, dont buy it
I have 128GB microSD class 10, do i regret using Mi series without memory slot ? NO !!
Last time i use my card is when i pick Galaxy Note 4,. And the performance getting worst !
Now thats memory belong to my camera.

Even type-C is the new standard and many OEMs still cheapened out and use micro USB. Unless all phone has acknowledged to use type-C solely, I won't give up entirely on 3.5mm jack.
Micro SD card is slower than internal, that's true but it is NOT that slow. A cheap UHS-I class 10 micro SD card is capable of recording 4k videos. Which is fast enough to store your music, videos, images, and whatnot but not apps. Besides, who said that a micro SD card can't be encrypted? It is certainly can and secure enough for the most of the population (I'm talking about 99% of the population)

Xiaomi will work 1st on the Redmi Note 5
than later Mi 7.
Xiaomi always give more focus on middlerange phone.
Redmi Note 5 will release sooner.
