Those are the same people who would buy a full-option Opel for $40.000 instead of a $50.000 Mercedes. They don't want the best quality - they want lower quality for the least amount of money.

Android phone dont slow down after each update and do not reduce performance when battery degrade nor they turn off by themselve at 30% battery ( unless you where unlucky and got a bad battery that can happen with any brand but happen more often on apple side )
I dont care about brand ( only ppl with low inteligence will buy for brand ) i buy for quality for the money spent.
There is no consistency on ios i am sorry but every update is like walking in a landmine you never know what will go wrong but its almost always do.
I work in the industry selling smartphone and others cell based hardware to business and its funny none of my clients ( that are not increasing in numbers ) who are switching from ios to android regret it.. but the others way happen a lots when they switch to ios and return to android in the following days.
There is android that give updates for 3 years wich is more than enuf.
As for security plenty of app in the app store or others security hole existed for years on iphone like the same security hole as stagefright on android by example you just dont know because media are not allowed to report them until they are patched ( do not mean ppl cannot use them ) over the years i had as many ios than android user calling me infected with various malware and virus so stay with your false sense of security i prefere having an antivirus software ( or at least the option to get one ) than living in a dream world where i think i am untouchable.
Both pixel and Essential phone are currently running latest android and security patch and are as secure as iphone easily but have much less bug following each updates and cost the same or much less.
Been using android for 7 years and never i had an infected phone. i cannot trust someone so disconnected from reality as you are.
Android Pay work same way as Apple pay lol when used no one see your personal informations just a token. This show how you have no clue what you talking about.
So continue to pay more to get less.
Android Security is very good now ( you even have option to make it even better with security software )
Depending on brand the user experience is very consistant and almost perfect.
Sure some brand like Samsung give android a bad name but at least you have choice of brand.

So for 499 you get a second-hand used Phone whatever might be fixed or had other issues.
Seems like a rip-off to me.
For 499 you can get a proper new Phone.

500 bucks for what was essentially defective and they fixed it (hopefully). For this money you get a brand new, properly functioning high end Android. And you don't have to deal with stupid closed ecosystem of Apple. Thanks but I'll stay with Android lol

Used a number of good Android phones, but ultimately the mediocre OS and mediocre apps in the Playstore pushed me to sell them after 4-6 months of usage.
I've even used Windows phones and Blackberry (BBOS) phones, and I can wholeheartedly say that even when using Windows 8.1 and Windows 10 phones, I enjoyed them more than any Android currently on the market.
Android works pretty well and gets the job done most of the time, but it doesn't work great and is doesn't offer a consistent experience. And I demand great quality and user experience in exchange for my $.
That's why I went for an iPhone instead of the S8/S8+ or any other Android phone out there.
I don't care about brands, I care about consistency, quality, security and constant and long-term updates. I want my apps to be malware-free and I don't want to be forced to install antivirus apps on my phone. Nor do I want to get today's OS update in 6 months from now, or not get it at all because my phone is older than 2 years.
Considering that Android phones are never on the latest version of Android, thus security flaws are not taken care of, and on top of this adding the multitude of apps in the Playstore that steal your data, and besides all of these also adding all the viruses you can get while browsing, all in all, I cannot trust an Android phone to store by bank details, do online transactions, purchases, or anything that involves my personal details and/or bank details.
I want to browse and make payments with my phone, without exposing my details and money to all the above risks.
But then again, if you only use your phone for social media, playing games, and taking pictures, Android is a good option for you because it offers the most bang for your buck. But you lose on security, user experience and consistency.

This is sooooo funny i cant stop laughing.
Man in my shop we sells refurbrished Iphone 5 for 150 and 6 for 200. And they ask 500 for Iphone 7 which here in Slovakia brand new cost 515 eur the cheapest price on the market and that a BRAND NEW.
So its not even a 5% nor 10% the difference.
And 742 eur is price of 7 plus with 256 GB disk space the cheapest price of brand new here in Slovakia.
