I went to a night market and all my shots turned out great. You can't generalize for "Samsung cameras", maybe the Galaxy R's isn't as good?

This smart phone maker got quality by functionality and phone build but had worst photo camera performance compare with a rest camera phones.

Sun, 30 Jul 2011Come on! If we do a survey we'll find that 95% of people wh... morePlastic used in industries and consumer electronics is not really "cheap plastic". They are high end polymers and are comparable to metal in both structural strength and cost. So a lower COP is not the reason for picking plastic.

I don't know where you have gotten the 95% number but let me tell you this; They may prefer a metal cage around their phone for a secure rugged feeling but they will be quickly annoyed by the signal attenuation made by metal. Check the HTC sensation. Its a good example as it suffers from this issue. Check the iphone 4 as well. Exterior metal contributes to signal attenuation due to shielding effect. That is how it works.

Also Its not that the SGS2 is made of pure plastic. At its core is a very rigid&tough mag-aluminium alloy chassis. Check i-fixit teardown to see the chassis. This one is very light and strong.

Manufacturers like Samsung and LG have one significant advantage over others. They can set price points as they do not have to procure components from external entities. People will buy the SGS2 and the SGSR for what they can do. Others will fall for the advertisements ;)

If we do a survey we'll find that 95% of people who bought or are going to buy a SG2 would have preffered a metal or anodysed aluminium casing...the decision to equip both the Sg1 and SG2 with plastic casing was not made due to safety concerns but for economic reasons! The thing is that Samsung knows that cannot afford to have launched SG2 with a price tag close to the iphone and hope to outsell it! The difference has to be around 200-300€ for Samsung to have a chance of competing with succes agains Apple! They know that no matter how good their phones are they don't exert the same fascination and mirage over people as iphone does....That's why unfortunatly I think the SG2 will surpass the selles numbers of the first Galaxy but it has slim chances to outsell the upcoming iphone5...

Their spring action is very useful in many applications. Metal frames are rigid and transfer the shock to the internal components and hence are less durable than the plastics. Also plastic has no signal attenuation in any frequency band.

I think Samsung knows they can't cross certain boundryes regarding the price. Only apple can do that because it looks like no matter what people are buying their products despite the restrictions and the extremelly high price...!

All your arguments are about top end smartfones and us geeks who use them,,Nokia still sells millions of its fones outside the geek arena..There are millions if not a few billion folk who do use a fone for talk and text and thats it..

Another argument is its got 50,000 apps, yeah right you do not have enough time in your life to try them all or have 1000s apps on yur fone..Most have 1030 good apps and any more i bet you dont even use..Its all hype and bravado..The biggest hype is ifone which is crippled by jobs so it works smoothly..All manufacturers can ban apps to make their fones run smoothly but they dont..

Thats why i will never buy apple, just overpriced hype.
