They need two or three things to get successful in this market and that they can ask for premium prices:
A much better camera with real Sony camera experience, much better sound quality with DAC and a premium build quality like iPhones used to have. Than they could roll up this boring market and being a real alternative to iPhone or Pixel.

I just feel disappointed why xperia does not provide this on oreo update. I very seldom record 4k video so it don't bother me that much anyway. Sorry because english is not my mother tongue.

I own xz and if you want to record 4k video you must click on a separate app. It doesn't match anything like XZ1 or the compact version where you just need to swipe up or down. Quite dissatisfied for me too. Sorry my bad English.

I like Sony but there is so much shit design wise that creates this love/hate relation to the brand. (Sony's reasoning) Let's make a camera phone that has everything it needs to create great pictures, but make the experience a pain in the ass.
Just bought a Nokia 930 and the pictures it take is mind-blowing good in manual mode. The camera app is your powerful tool to controll, in Sony's case their camera ap just sucks. Does not encourage to take good pictures what so ever. (But it could)
They use a premium naming skeem and release phones with plastic rails for a body. (Xz premium) They use a glass sandwich design for all these years with no reason at all. Do they not implement wireless charging, no! So why did it take like 5 years for them to make a phone like Xz1. It is not for repairability reasons, if your screen breaks then you still need to disect the whole phone. While we are on the hardware side why don't we talk about the buildquality. Plastic protective lens for the camera? Touch digitizers that stops working after 1 crack. Addhesive that will lose up after 1.5 years. Stereo speaker setup with worst speakers on the market. The list goes on.
In Sony's defense much of my complaints has been addressed with the latest flagship phones but some still lingering on.
Some things took them like 5 years to figure out and the competition solved it in under 1 year. Still I love Sony for the other things they do Right.

Have you ever used a Sony phone before? Why don't you go to the nearest electronic chain store and try it out? I have a Sony Xperia Z3+ and that's exactly how I record videos. Turn on the camera using the shutter button, slide to the video mode, then push the shutter button again to record. Or fine, 4K. Let's see... According to the video, I guess 1) slide up, 2) slide up, 3) touch, 4) record button. Still one hand operable. Unlike your Galaxy S8, in which you'll have to turn it on, slide up on the camera side, then you may have to slide again to the camera mode. All during which you may drop (and break) phone because you have no edge to grab onto.
And why do you need to record in 4K anyways? Care to explain? I record in 1080P and I can still see it on most TVs well enough. And lemme guess; you don't even have a 4K TV. And judging by your grammar, you probably play Minecraft on some CyberPowerPC or something. In other words, you don't record enough video anyways.
As for your revision, what? What revision? I don't see any form of revision change in the build.prop or default.prop. Especially in the About menu of Settings. Oh wait, what am I talking about? What is /system/build.prop? Where is /default.prop? I can't find it anywhere...!
Nothing new is supposed to come to the device, UI-wise, obviously. The designers DESIGNED the UI around how the phone looks. Keeping the same UI until the phone support ends is the best decision a company who customizes software makes. It keeps the phone elegant. And plus, new software features make it in within every new OS version on the Sony phones anyways. What's there to complain?

Sony should leak more info about the XZ2. We know everything about the S9.
People already plan to buy it. They might change their mind if they knew about the XZ2.
Unless of course, the XZ2 sucks :)
Personally I'd like to know since im likely to get one of these two - and I'm hoping for the XZ2 to be +- as good as the S9 mainly because I'm fed up with Samsung update-lag policy. I want Sony/Google's next-week updates =p

I did my revision regularly for every updates that hit Sony devices! Watch and understand. Everyone knows Sony updates are fast but nothing new were materialized in general. If you don't understand this you may keep your mouth shut. No one will ever blame you in certainty!

(Oh wait, your pompous iPhone or your weak and environmentally unhealthy Galaxy S8 doesn't have one! I guess it's impossible.)
2) Use the index finger to touch the screen then drag upwards. Just like every other Android phone. Yes, including your expensive and useless S8. What, is that the only phone you use?
3) Use the index finger, go back to that shutter button, and press down on it again. Is it that hard to record a video? I know it's very hard to do it one handed on an S8.
And I see you opened your account to just to spew nonsense and mock others in a crude manner. I wonder, what's so fun about it? And like you said, don't mislead others if you don't know anything. Or in this case, you have some common sense.

Rumored Sony Xperia XZ Pro should have "true wireless charging" without a need of putting it on top of Qi compliance wireless pad.
Perhaps 15 metres capable from the charging source is highly recommended. I will play PS4 Pro with ease with this new technology on the phone. By then, Sony deserve to call it a "Pro" series phone.

The way i see it, i hope they include bezels. Either way the haters will not buy it even if the bezels are shred. So please Sony bring back side FPS and Bezels.

I am going with Sony because of front-facing speakers and the APPROPRIATE BEZEL SIZE. You are exactly right - the current bezels are perfect for watching movies / playing games and actually using the performance of the device. On my current (non-Sony) phone, my little kid always touches the screen by accident and messes up the video so I have to restart it. Really looking forward to a Sony upgrade.
