The Nokia 500 is Nokia's first 1GHz Symbian smartphone

01 August, 2011
Nokia continues its Symbian push with its latest Nokia 500. It's quite like the C5-03 but with a 1GHz flare.

SFAN, 01 Aug 2011But N8 had many defects. Many customers returned it for a r... moreEvery phone that sells has many defects. There is a fail ratio of about 2%/year within mobile devices across the entire market. The SGS2 has not been measured yet, but trust me it will hit about the same, or more, and the N8 is no exception to the 2-3% rule.

Unless it is something blatantly obvious like the Red Ring of Death on XBOX was (6-8%/year failrate between countries) you cannot say a single device has more defective units than any other. And if you do, supply numbers.

    Interesting,
how many coments are about Nokia Fanboys, how they are blind, but i dont see many comments from fanboys because it is ordinary phone for ordinary people(nothing special like flagship). There are many comments from Nokia haters. From 180 comments, about 150 is from haters.
If Nokia is so bad and you are not interest in Nokia, then why are you spending time here?
People it is time to take calming pills.

Cod3rror, 01 Aug 2011wow you are a complete fool. iPhone 3GS a two year old p... moreI could bounce this one back pretty hard, but I'll save myself (and you) the trouble.

Bashing Nokia is all well and good since there are reasons for it as many choices they make are hard to understand, but when you bash the users, you're just being a sad puppy with no life - they call this bashing/trolling and it's not supposed to be happening.

Trust me, thus far any and every phone user I speak has some basic idea of what their phone should be able to do. Your lack of faith in that is more an illustration of your own shortcomings, than anything else.

        Have a nice day.

Coming from Symbian, Meego is the way to go. And no, the N8 didn't have many defects. It only had one, the power failure issue which has quickly been addressed in the second batch of the units.

What Elop is doing may be pissing us off about killing off Symbian and MeeGo, but he is pushing the company forward unlike the previous CEO. I rather use WP7 than Symbian^3 (at it's current stage) the Updates for Symbian is taking forever and it's always falling behind. Think about it and stop being a fanboy.

The Nokia is dead if they don't come out with a new OS what will be comparable with Android they will loose the smartphone business, becouse the symbian sucks and I think the MeeGo sucks before it's come out ( that has an ugly interface, UI sucks and the logos.......... wtf ). They need to introduce some applications from iOS just like Android! They can not make a better OS then iOS but I think they can make an OS in the level of Android just they need to make a simple to use and bug free OS with applications like on the iOS.

[deleted post]The reason for Symbian's decline is because Nokia declared its death. The Nokia N8 sold a freaking 4 million units in just 3 months since launch and everything seemed to look well thereafter until Stephen Elop killed it. Wrong decisions and bad management is bringing Nokia down.

Funny to see people talking shit about nokia. I feel they makes very good 'phones'. Excellent call quality and great battery life. Now if they don't offer strippers jumping out of the scree, don't blame them. Stop hating, here are enough followers of nokia to keep it running.

Honestly, are you saying that they chose an inferior OS over a superior one? And lastly, iOS can't be competed with, it's matured too much; android is quickly catching up, but iOS and Cydia are my cup of tea and cofee!

Forget everything for a minute and take a look at 1 fact:

You see, our body's have certain limit to what they can store in a whole day: for instance, their is a certain maximum amount of protein that our body needs and can use, the rest will be stored and remain un-used!

Similarly, putting a 1Ghz processor in something that doesn't require more then 750 mhz (MAX) is particulary useless- So what if it costs 150 euros? If adding 50 more euros gets me an android phone, with or without contract, I'd much rather go for quality then useless quantity
