Hardware limitations? Stupid BS, hardware rocks, same for my rocket flagship of summer 2016 - P9plus or P9. Shame on you, Huawei, "number 3" of smartphone world. For this reason I joined Apple boat last December , hope sometime Android world stay close to the clients.
PS: My new old, hardware obsolete(2012-2015 era) low resolution trash junk for iSheeps Iphone SE have the latest software and security updates and just flies.

What hardware limitations? It's the same Cortex-A72 and especially the Cortex-A53 that everyone else is using, and also the same Mali-T800-series GPU. So what limitations?
And as for "software limitations".... isn't Oreo the "software"... DOH!
