gkelekov, 01 Mar 20182GB of ram should be plenty. If only there were developers... moreIn Windows XP times webservice based native dedicated apps are seldom. Web apps were much simpler so browsers don't hog RAM. Apps were not kept in RAM until garbage collectors wipe them to give room for newly started apps. Very few appswere running in the background maintaining an open socket for push notifications. Get your base arguments right before comparing rice and mango.

leledumbo, 12 Feb 20183 is not enough for me, 4 is even too close to the limit, 6... more2GB of ram should be plenty.
If only there were developers, not kids using really badly made engines and frameworks, and then them self booting their apps with poor code and workarounds, then even 1GB of ram should be enough.
2GB of ram for OS without and real multitasking is just stupid. You all were running Windows XP on 1GB of RAM with same resolution and everything worked (videos, music, youtube, programing...) More then you do or can do on your phone.

I don't think we can never get enough of RAM. I mean I agree 8GB might be an overkill at the moment, but remember, flagships are designed to last you a minimum of 2 years and still feel good. Moving forward, as apps gets more memory hungry, you will realise that having more RAM is not a bad thing. Everyone has functions that they prioritize over others. End of the day, get a device best suited to your own needs. Trust me, even other manufacturers are going to include more RAM in time to come. Don't forget, VIVO is having a phone with 10GB RAM.

Anonymous, 12 Feb 20188GB ram? For what? Even 3GB ram is enough to handle all games.3 is not enough for me, 4 is even too close to the limit, 6 is what my current phone has and is what I can say enough. Some other people out there might be a more multitasker than me, so they require 8 instead of 6.

Mirkran, 09 Feb 2018The power drawn from RAM is negligible compared with what i... morewell, screen and LTE you can disable or optimize yourself in battery department. ram you can't disable half if you want. you can try to optmize it, but then again if you do you will notice that you don't need the 8Gb. 835 chipset is already good in battery department. more ram you tend to have more apps opened and more "relax" in having a system optimized. less optimized system, more battery drain. like i told in 2/3 years of having 4Gb devices....i'm always below 2Gb...so why should i need 6 or 8? i prefer the money to be spent on other better components...better camera, faster ram, not more....better device quality, better quality components. i don't care about numbers...only the quality of them.

Anonymous, 09 Feb 2018And yet your u11 has poor battery life compared to the heav... moreyou really never had one in your hands right?
htc u11 don't have poor battery life...ive 2 day battery for me is more than enought. i just don't have 10000x background apps running like most of the retards have. go read more reviews its the closest thing you will have have to a top device. none sd 835 device have poor battery life. you know there are other factors to battery life right? your logic is so dumb that doesn't deserve more comments. regards.

AnonD-734219, 10 Feb 2018Sure, but why would you crop a supposed 18:9 screen to 16:9... moreI am just assuming. cropping is pretty much ancient technology we are using. since the early 1960 till today. (I am just in the mid-late 20) as for WHY doing it. don't ask me.

I can understand cropping out the time and date, other info, but exactly to 16:9? I don't see a purpose for that and I don't doubt the Mi 7 will have pretty much these specks, but this is not it in what I'm concerned.

Anonymous, 10 Feb 2018Efficacy would imply that the devices start on an equal foo... morethat's what I do when comparing efficiency. and I know the caps are different. I check the lowest battery sized phone battery size and drain the others to be at exactly the same number. and then check consumption of energy per 4 levels; 25mAh, 50 mAh, 200 mAh, and 1,000 mAh.
