Fifth Horseman, 05 Aug 2011Because people are easily swayed by websites favouring Appl... moreSorry but I don't agree with you. The biggest bashers that I've seen across the board when it comes to bashing Nokia... are the Fandroids! The iPhone fans are generally not nearly as bad. The Fandroids tend to always walk around boasting tech specs and saying the N8 is a horrible phone (simply because of its specs, nothing more) and have the audacity to claim the N8's camera is "just ok" but touting the Galaxy S 2's camera as better. Which is quite laughable to those of us that actually own the N8 and know how superior it really is to everything in the mobile market.

When referring to all of the techy reasons for something being "crippled" yes the iPad line is crippled. But when you remove the techy side of it (those that talk specs 24/7) to the rest of us the iPad becomes an awesome tablet.

The N9 is an awesome device. But personally I would like to see Nokia make a phone running WP7, with a 4" screen with the same (or better) camera that is in the N8. For me that would be a winner.

I think all the bashing centers around the new whipping boys of the cellphone world, the Nokias, the BB's and the Motorolas.. Some of the criticisms are well warranted, I agree. The others, I just don't know where it's coming from.

Yes, there is a certain degree of brand loyalty involved, and rightly so. And most people would rather be identified with the so-called "winners" or "in-crowd". Nothing really wrong with that.

But what's all this animosity almost bordering on hatred? These are inanimate objects. Cellphones. Communication devices. Each brand/model/form-factor catering to specific demographics. If it appeals to you, then you're the target market. If it doesn't, then move on.

Meego is a fairly new OS.
It is getting a lot of interest from many areas and
manufacturers. If nokia only make one this year so what? others are developing lots of meego devices. If you have to try to find something to shoot this down I am sorry for you. No One has a "valid" bad thing to say about this and it may become a great platform.
If Nokia sells tons of these do you really think they would not release another? This was said about the n900 and oops now we N9?
As a new OS it is impossible to find anything wrong with it...

m, 04 Aug 2011well the nokia n9 looks aweswome nice shape. but it doesnt ... moreeverything compared to iphone 5 is substandard. Ip only has 8mp camera and you can't compare that to the performance of the Carl Zeiss lens. And no flash support.

AnonD-10525, 04 Aug 2011Wow sounds like you are harboring some hatred for Nokia. I... moreBecause people are easily swayed by websites favouring Apple products. It's Apple therefore it must be the best. I don't think so.
Mind you, I have an Archos 70S tablet and compared to the iPad2 [which my wife has] it is crippled. The iPad just works and like someone else said Android is forever force closing or freezing.
The N9 could be Nokia's saviour if they give it a chance.

I have a Nokia N8, but do not work for Nokia.... sorry. Why did I get it? Well because since Android sucks major and crashes, has malware, bugs, force closes, etc etc... I decided that it didn't matter how good the features looked - it needed to WORK!!! I have no trouble browsing the web, checking email, sending email, calling!, texting, bluetooth file transfer, checking the weather... AND I can take the best pictures on any mobile phone.

So, why again is Nokia so bad????

well the nokia n9 looks aweswome nice shape. but it doesnt matter crap os. meego, yes it go out of fashion. i would say good luck with windows 7. the only chance for nokia to get back on the horse, having fallen off with the outdated simbian. shame.

but as we all know, apple will still be number 1 next year, as everything is sub standard compaired to iphone 5 or the forthcoming iphone 6 next year.

Cod3rror, 03 Aug 2011Why is there even a discussion? The only people that hav... moreto your comment about Nokia, I will have to respectfully disagree. For several reasons
                    1. Nokia is outdated, but it is because Americans are so use to not worrying about "resources".
                    2. Nokia symbian no matter how outdated you think the interface is, is efficient. Try getting an HTC anything to last 5 hours a day without charge with moderate use.
                    4. Please do take note that it is a phone. A communication device first. Do I really care how fancy the icons look, or do I really need the phone to have good signal, battery life, reliable that I can count on, vs. an Iphone 4, or most HTCs that looks great, but has a speaker phone that is not usable, Iphone 4 can't even reliably connect to bluetooth headset, check out apple's website about all the problems with bluetooth headset connection issues that after a year still unresolved.
                    3. if you want a tablet, get a tablet, than I won't disagree that Symbian style icons and interface is a little outdated.
                    4. People you have to get your priorities straight, it is always a phone first. That's like complaining about a BMW not floating very well on the Bay.
                    5. Extreme prejudice is never a very good thing, it just shows how little you know.
                    6. Nokia without argument makes the finest hardware for phone on the market. It always gets signal when HTC, samsung, lg and iphones alike fails. "Can you hear me now" I guess not, because you're going for quantity vs. quality.

if you claim that this video is better than N8 then it must be one of the following reasons :

                      1.you don't have a N8
                      2. you don't have a N8 but you hate the fact that its camera is better and will be always better than N9
3.you have a N8 and you are either blind or set video rec to vga

It's better than N8 - no blurry sides/corners and really saturated good looking colors instead of washed out colors on the N8.
