I would like to see a contest for the largest sensor.

I'm not expecting medium format 645 or FF35 in a phone, but this race to the smallest sensor is an insult to human inteligence.

Isn't OmniVision Technologies a affiliate daughter company of Samsung Electronics? I am pretty sure it's Samsungs own manufacturing and developing company in China. I thought Samsung brought more than 60% av OmniVision like 10 years ago. They even gave name to Samsungs Omnia Camera Series. In that case i don't Apple should mess with Samsung anymore and become friends. Because Samsungs owns a hell o alot of developing companies within mobile and microchip market. If Samsung cuts Apple of then Appla emight be in trouble.

why do you think DSLR have few times bigger sensor than normal digital camera ??
and while most digital camera are 1/2.3" , this new sensor only have 1/4" and that about half of the size of normal digital camera !

                                1/4" sensor !!!
normal high end phone using 1/2.5" sensor and their output of image is passable only!
1/4" ? way too small to produce a nice print.
