However. step into the 8xx region and you'll see why Adreno is so ogled. the Adreno 630 as far as I can understand (though not certified and no proven. I have no proof of if) is a penta core GPU. and yet with just five cores it trumps all other phones. (I might be wrong about it though so take it with a grain of salt)

So after 4-5 months. They literally replace their exynos variant with something else. Which is why there are tons of exynos brand here in my country which are being ignored by everybody because its not a good gaming device.
BTW. They resell those devices as refurbished. And the only you would get is the generic charger and the generic usb cable. NO earphones or others.

Most people prefer Snapdragon. Every chinese and japanese phone except for the huawei uses QC chipset. Asians do prefer snapdragon because the CPU may be weak but the GPU is what it gives its gaming performance. Which is the reason why DAYDREAM VR supports Snapdragon powered devices.

Also check the game graphic quality. Of course it can those games that are snapdragon optimized. However. How goes the GPU quality? FYI. The Exynos is a powerful processor. But the GPU on the other side is weaker because it uses MALI GPU.

I am not making up the Geekbench numbers where they crush and mock their Snapdragon counterparts. And the Snapdragon-optimized games do not get that faster you know. As if a Radeon game does not run on an equivalent Geforce card.....

Great news! Reading books and website would ruin the AMOLED display, and 16:10 is a much better aspect ratio for watching Netflix. I wouldn't mind if it was 16:9 or 18.5:9, like the phones.

                            http://www.displaywars.com/10,5-inch-16x10-vs-9,7-inch-4x3

I'd actually be OK with something in between 16:10 and 4:3. Google's Pixel C might be my favourite form factor because it's still balanced, keeps the same aspect ratio for split screen, and a bit better than 4:3 for movies. But if I have to choose between 4:3 and 16:10, I'll choose 4:3 every time. Not trying to establish dogma here, it's my strong preference after having used both.

3:2 vs 4:3? I'd really need to use a 3:2 large tablet for a while (paying with it for a few minutes is not enough IMO), but I could see myself using either. 3:2 on the Nook HD+ was very nice, but that was "only" 8.9" so not sure how well it would have scaled to a larger tablet. So yeah, I'd certainly would be willing to buy a 10.5" 3:2 Android tablet from Samsung.

AshesToAshes, 19 Feb 2018Portrait 16:10 is definitely usable, but whether it's good.... moreAt 10.5 inches it has similar width to the 4:3, 9.7 ipads of old. So your point is kind of moot already. Also 4:3 is terrible for media (not just movies, also online videos, even games).

16:10 is in the verge of getting too tall on tablets (althpugh we happily use much wider aspect ratios on phones for years) whilst in portait mode. In that we agree, but still (a) it's not too bad *and* unlike 4:3 it does not completely destroy a main use of tables (media).

IMO 3:2 is the best of all. Wide screen still (for youtube and stuff), the closest of all to 1.41:1 (books'/pdfs' aspect ratio), great for both widescreen and portrait oriented websites.

So even if you think that 16:10 is a bit too much, why would you go all the way down to 4:3? What's wrong with 3:2 that already covers your uses without destroying one of the main tablet uses?

Anonymous, 19 Feb 2018You do realize that books are read in portrait and that (if... morePortrait 16:10 is definitely usable, but whether it's good... I'd beg to differ. It doesn't really matter much for freely flowing text on ebooks where you can resize text and dual pages in landscape actually look pretty good, but I still find 4:3 massively better for PDFs and websites. Very, very few websites make something useful with all the width that you get on a large 16:10 landscape tablet. I always find myself yearning for more height instead. It's the complete opposite in portrait of course... too tall and not enough width so text is often hard to read comfortably.

At the end of the day it's about personal preference and use cases, but the whole thing about 4:3 being "old" as if that settles the issue... I've always found that funny. Should we discard the wheel as well? It's an ancient invention after all...
