Test shots will reveal the truth. Be it phone from nokia, sony, huawei or any other brand. Though they could catch an eye with some serious hw, there is just so much to expect after last year...

Fitting a large camera sensor in a phone would make it thick like the Nokia N8 & 808 PureView. These phones packed large sensors & Xenon flashes and were thick during their reign, at a time when the trend of slim phones was becoming all the rage. I personally don't mind thickness of a phone if the camera is exceptional. Nokia 8 Pro, rumoured to use multiple camera lenses, comprising a setup of penta lens, seems similar to the Light L16 Camera. Nokia once invested in Pelican imaging and was rumoured to bring a smartphone with array camera setup, of course that never happened. But this might be it or related to the Nokia OZO camera. A combination of lenses can be used to achieve (hypothesizing) optical zoom, lossless digital zoom, hi-resolution capturing, depth of field, wide angle, image stacking and oversampling like Nokia 808 PureView & Lumia 1020. HMD recently got the trademark for Lumia Camera App transferred to itself from Microsoft so Lumia Camera App can finally make a debut on the Android platform with the Nokia 8 Pro. This seems to be an all in one solution for smartphone cameras to deliver close to DSLR grade image quality without making the phone thick. Like in the renders, the camera module could be a little protruding and that's it. On the renders, the back looks busy, and I like a minimalistic design on the back so that it would be easy on the eyes.. Nokia could remap the fingerprint sensor to the side if the design isn't finalized yet, that would be much better. It remains to be seen whether or not the penta lens setup will offer any significant improvement in image quality over the current generation of flagship smartphone cameras. I'm more excited to see the Nokia 8 Pro in action as a smartphone photography enthusiast.

Moj, 19 Feb 2018A little bit disappointed! And if it will come with SD 845 ... moreThe price maybe..

Boom boom what a year this will be. That render is jaw dropping. Though I don't see the point of the 9 if the 8 Pro Sirocco is this. But the 9 size at approximately 140mm is attractive except for the hump if it's unstable. Models 7 up are highly attractive, new classics.

And the same slow. 808/920/1020 times gone firever. All that people who did that pureview tech are working in more respectable and successful companies than Foxconn (HMD("nokia"))

It Really Looks Like A lumia 830.If it has a Lot Of Colours Like the Lumia, It Would Be Amazing.

Nokia 8 [something] (Pro, or whatever you want it named) is okay. But not Nokia [something] 8. Because at the end of the line, it still within Nokia 8 lines.

Besides... PureView trademark is owned by Microsoft Mobile. HMD (nor Nokia) can't use it anymore. They have to register new trademark.

The naming system is very easy and makes sense - 1 from to 9, low-end to high-end, with updated generations every year. They're also easy to remember, and makes emphasis on the Nokia name, so it's a great marketing thing as well. They can simply make the sub-editions like -Pro and -Sirocco, they're also good names and easy to remember.

Oh. I think I like this a lot haha

Design reminds me of Nokia Lumia 1020. I hope camera will be great like that one. It will definitely be one of the most interesting phones of 2018, atleast for me. I just hope Nokia won't screw this up like 1020. I remember they placed not so powerfull CPU in that one, so taking a photo or using apps was not too fast, even for the time when it came out. I also see stereo front firing speakers, which would be great if they implement. So this might be my next smartphone, who knows. It definitely looks interesting and I hope it brings that old glory Nokia had.
