Will wait and see how the model looks and what price tag it will carry in India. If it is out of reach, i will settle with XZ1 (hope they will reduce the price)

Anonymous, 21 Feb 2018 5.0-inch screen is not the compact size. Compact is 4.5-4.7Keep in mind this 5.0 screen is 18:9 ratio and will be surrounded by reduced bezels, so theorically it should have about the same footprint of a 4.5-4.7 16:9 screened device

Skiptapp, 21 Feb 2018I agree with most of the posts here regarding the new SONY ... morethe bathtub design, as you call it, is very ergonomic imo. the device will actually feel smaller in your hands because of the curve. the 64mm width will feel 54mm in your palm or smaller. it reminds me of seiko watches they often wear much smaller than their case dimensions because of the way the case curves and wraps around wrist

AnonD-660035, 21 Feb 2018Maybe some people want to fool us? Maybe Sony itself before... moreI don't really care about the Jack but I liked the idea that Sony continue to provide unique features that some people would consider deal-breakers, eg:

                -waterproofing
                -SD card
                -impressive battery

Things that every manufacturer has now got on-board with also.

As people have said, they need to listen to what people want and not just watch the Galaxies selling and assume that's what they need to do to compete.

Honestly Sony needs to mark themselves out with specific features that others have overlooked - basically the principle behind the Compacts in the first place.

                - [get back to] extended battery life as standard
                - wireless charging
                - significant internal storage, which allows..
                - dual SIM by default with hybrid SD slot, less of a drawback when internal storage is copious, but still catering for extremes;
                - Headphone jack in line with audio pedigree

And stop chasing others in just specs and catch-up moves which consistently leaves them a year behind everyone else.

Also I simply don't understand some of their moves, it's still seeming like someone inside the company is actively making sure their devices don't compete well, I just don't get how they could keep making obvious mistakes year after year. >:[

If this is true, just hand sony the crown. It has already won the 2018 phone battle.

I agree with most of the posts here regarding the new SONY flagship top-end cell phone. (By the way, why does SONY have to have so many different phones? Why not make just 2 or 3 outstanding models, and give them names everybody can identify with).
If SONY wants to be areal winner and survive in this business get the basics right for a change. For example, nothing beats the sound quality of hard-wired headphones, so why ditch what most users want? Gives us a headphone jack. Bad move for SONY. Ugly "bathtub" design with curved back: Bad move for SONY. The classic omni-balance design is beautiful and unique. Why ditch a winner? If SONY wants to be a real winner, give us a better camera, a world-wide warranty, and a lower more competitive price, and ditch the worthless price-enhancing features nobody cares about, such as Play Station controller, dinosaurs in the picture, and wrap-around imaging. You could even ditch the super slo-mo....once you try it you're done with it. Who needs it? Just give us an amazing basic phone that does the right stuff better than anybody else.
I have been waiting for several years for SONY to produce the cell phone I really want, but every time they release a new model it always falls short of the mark in at least one or two important areas.

Wish people would stop complaining about the fingerprint sensor. I admit it sucks moving it to the back but Sony can't enable the side-mounted one in the US for some stupid reason.

Why can't they just... moreI am still using my original z1 compact after exactly 4 years, I passed the z3c, z5c I am watching the price of xz1c, its down to 350 from 500 but my phone holds tight. I keep dropping it and nothing happens, why would I buy a new phone and drop it once to have its screen smashed.

I hope Sony doesnt remove headphome jack. Out of all companies, Sony doing this is beyond any logic. All the high end Digital Audio Players Sony and co release never ditched 3.5mm Jack. Apple did it to increase sales of their crappy airpods. But Sony? They got some really great headphones that sound a million times better than AirPods....

do the manufacturers actually listen. In almost every review, the missing of a 3.5 mm headset jack in a mobile phone is being critcised. And still, Sony wants to go the same way. What a shame if it is true. I have used a dongle before and I find them simply horrible.

The prices They did not meet until May 2017, are you telling me that a website already knows the prices? LOL

                                    Xz1 c 499$

If they're removing features like the 3.5mm jack ... they better bring something special to replace it. However, I can't see that happening ... Sony smartphones are dying!
The Z1 compact & Z3 were my last Sony phones.

The fools in charge of this Sony division need to sacked!

Maybe some people want to fool us? Maybe Sony itself before they show the real thing? I don´t really care about headphone jack. You can replace it by bluetooth headphones or via USB-C. Maybe they also offer some nice headphones in the package.

But I dont´t think that they use the same camera than of XZ1. This would be really a joke. And I also don´t think that those phones go on sale 6 march.
