Anonymous, 08 Aug 2011I have always looked forward to QNX coming to blackberry's ... morei work @ a phone shop aswell,we had training on the blackberry playbook yesterday its a cool device, full hd,the video quality on it is sickining its awesome, its also very nice 2 play need for speed on there, what i dont like about it is though is the fact that it does not have a simcard, its not that u cant use bbm on there, to use it u must connect your bb phone to it, than only u can use bbm on the playbook. but its an awesome gadget though.

the problem is not because of the os, the key factor that android became popular because it open and ios got to it point because it easy to use in the globe.

It will be very interesting to see how QNX perform on a consumer cell phone. QNX is a mature and well acclaimed operating system.

Ahh, the memories. i remember that QNX was supposed to be the new AmigaOS som 7-8 years back. and it ran great off a floppy disk on as small as 233mhz pentium computers.

Nice to see the use of it for BB phones, as it is surely a great operating system at its core.

By which time the NOKIA N9 would have stolen a large chunk of market share from android and RIM.

Anonymous, 08 Aug 2011I have always looked forward to QNX coming to blackberry's ... moreRIM can still work on the next QNX based BB OS to exceedingly beat competitors' base sys reqs as best as they could. I know I know... I'm waiting to see if future BBs will adopt the kind of hardware firepower in iPhones and Androids but until then it's a better idea to tighten up the codes. At least to a point not so stupidly as rigid as WP7's reqs.

You people need to understand 1 golden CODING rule; It's better to have the OS be as fast, stable and scalable on the lowest common yet modern sys specs possible so that the firepower are best optimized for supporting APPS, not the OS itself. This is where Linux beats the crap out of Windows. And to be frank this is where Android currently need to address like probably moving away from Java or go pure C++.
                    /I'm an Android fan btw.

Not an easy job and not even a guarantee if the next OS are compatible on these recently announced OS 7 phones which is crucial to maintain user loyalty.

And FFS RIM cut a deal for more up to date imaging CMOS sensors and fire/hire some devs for better multimedia algorithms.

Trying to push out phones to without their own network support...lol, what will they do next

I have always looked forward to QNX coming to blackberry's but if it does not support Blackberry Messenger on release it won't sell very well.

I work in a phone shop and 95% of people who buy Blackberry buy it specifically for Blackberry Messenger.

But I'm still looking forward to seeing the first BB QNX device.

Blackberrys are for people that don't compare a phone measure pixels, speed, cpu and techies like that...

I like too mucho BB but the OS has too much problems and support, let's see this new OS....maybe will be a BB come back....

I suspect it will be a while before QNX comes out so i am still buying BB9900 which will be good for a year or more till NX gets settled in..QNX is a freshly new o/s like W7 and WEB o/s so will last for at least 7 years..O/S come and go but onkly symbian is gauranteed till 2016 and no other manufacturer offers that gaurantee of support.
