AI camera tech in LG V30S was developed with EyeEm, which beat Google last year

24 February 2018
EyeEm's algorithm was more accurate than Google's when it came to tagging images with keywords.

Anonymous, 25 Feb 2018Huawei copied from Sony. Now LG too. Who's next? ... moreyou know who uses these modes. The one who knows how to use manual mode doesn't require any of these modes and the price that sony asks for its devices you easily get flagship phones with better user interface and full manual modes in camera which puts sony behind. I mean sony would make much more sense to people who dont know what settings to keep while clicking, coz the phone will help but unfortunately none of those people can actually go for sony as for the price. And most people who can spend that much mostly know manual settings. So now if am looking for sony then i fall in a very particular customer market in which people who have enough to spend but dont know much about camera modes, and dont actually prefer iOS, and dont care about stock android as well. Too many clauses to clear to get to a sony phone.

Oh well, phone cameras. So far LG V30 is on top of the line, 2nd is Mate 10 Pro, 3rd is Pixel. I've used all three and tested them (I own a Pixel, my colleagues got the others, they're photographers too and they sometimes prefer something that fits into the pocket). I know there are a lot out there, but the real deal is V30 is the current king of phone cameras, maybe it would be replaced soon since new flagships are upcoming. But anyway, in other sense, phone cameras still can't replace or match Professional Cameras' output (Mirrorless, DSLR). You can see the difference in low light alone.

Some of this Ai stuff just irritates me. Get lost, make the cameras better.

I'm more interested in image quality than image tags.. Can it beat Pixel 2 in terms of camera performance? Can we have a battle between the two?

By the way any xperia can recognize almost 60 scenes. The phone knows if you are on the move or just still.
If you place it on tripod or handhold it.

Main scenes are : landscape, pets, backlit ( hdr), low light, night scene, documents, face, food, beach, fireworks, smooth capture, smile..

It can figure out more than one scene at same time.
