What you're thinking about is probably opening times of simple apps, since Apple has a UI that provides a more fluid experience, but also takes fractions of a second longer to load while playing the animations.

Benchmarks doesn't make any phone better or worse, just look at iPhone X BIOSH!T CPU, destroys all phones in benchmarks but even a 400bucks oneplus 5T is much faster than iPhoneX in almost everything
