Nokia wants to be a Top 5 smartphone maker in 3-5 years, isn't bringing its new devices to the US

26 February 2018
The revived brand definitely has lofty ambitions, but to reach such goals it probably won't be able to ignore the US forever.

Ok, I really don't care if Nokia is still Finnish or just another china replika brand, even though I should..
What I do care is that Nokia WON'T ALLOW bootloader unlocking = NO ROOT!

Long story short, Nokia = GARBAGE!
Maybe for a regular fb sheep it is ok, but for technical people it is useless. Might as well get an iPhone and get it over with..

Its easily possible. They are gonna be in top 5 within next two years! I am 100% sure of it.

If Nokia wants to be in top it needs to lower it's prices on there phones that have old hardware in them. With windows phones they had good hardware for there devices and price was right. When Lumia 520 come out it's price was low and on that time good enough hardware. Even my 830 that i got for something 240 euro was with good enough specs. Now with same price range i wont even watch Nokia phones cause there to expensive as i get a lot better hardware for less money from Xiaomi or from Huawei or some random Chinese brands like Ulefone, Elephone, Okitel and so on. Xiaomi mi a1 have vanilla droid on it and cost a lot less then any of these Nokia phones that have same or close to same hardware in them. While m1 a1 is a budget phone, Nokia phones with same hardware is already middle class to high end class with starting Nokia 6 upwards. If they stop asking price for there brand and want to be in top they need to change the strategy with there prices versus hardware and dont ask so 200+% for there brand. If you want large market you need to have better specs on low end devices that have justified there price.

If Nokia are to be on top once again they should be introducing cutting edge design for their flagships, like bendable displays. If they could make the Nokia 888 concept it would make Nokia nr 1 in the world again. At the same time focus on lower end devices with durability and 4G.

For Nokia, or any other maker, to have any hope in the US, they need to provide more options than 5.5”+ phablets. So it’s probably best they stayed out. The US isn’t like India, and prefer ergonomics and practical sized phones. The two most popular companies in the US offer smaller options.

What is it with all you bezeless lovers ?
Your as pathetic as the poxy designers who dreamed up the con.
I bet you lot wont be happy until a device is as thin as a piece of paper and you can fold it in any shape size you like and its powered for a month from its non-existent battery.
See,thats the problem with no bezels and thinner and thinner phones,no room to put amything in,you seem to want the impossible, better cams, more battery etc etc,but less and less room to play with for engineers to fit stuff into.
Best news ive heard yet from hmd/nokia,ignore the usa,its a tiny market, with a protectionist and paranoid loopy leader,if htc had done the same, concentrate on rest of world first, then bither with the usa,it might not be bankrupt today, why so many firms seem to think if they do well in the usa then that will lead to sucess elsewhere is bloody stupid,40 million in usa,6+ billion everywhere else, even the eu is twice the market of eu,ah well,i a few years time, when the ysa has walled itself off and has such ridiculous protectionist policies that nobody will bother with the usa anyway,it wont be missed, its corrupt companies and population can stiff each other locked up in their lah lah dreamers land..

                              Really?

                              Which phone then?
Even Galaxy A8 is only 76% screen to body ratio.
                              The new 7 is 77, while 8S is 81%.

So yea, they are using 2010 design.

How beautiful this life is. Nokia, once upon a time, the number 1 leader, 100 million phones per Q.

That is life. We get to experience the down, so we can be more thankful when get back to the top.

And i wish Nokia could be back in top.

instead of experimenting on old designs, nokia should bring bezelless design asap and add multiple adds on . Looks like they have resumed from 2010. old boring designs. they need to fine tune their battery life too.

Bullshit. No Nokia 7 Plus for me. And that was my ideal device.
