LG superfan, 27 Feb 2018And we still havent seen 670 in phonesSD670 not yet officially launch by Qualcomm so how come to see it in the phone. Till today SD660 is a top dog for SD6XX series. Go to Qualcomm official website and check about it.

Anonymous, 27 Feb 2018I guess a few is late bro.. https://www.technologyreview... morewhat have this to do with AI chips in mobile devices?

Brain controlled devices are old as heII. even back in 90' we had scientific test where person control mechanical objects using just brain waves. Few years ago, probably 2009-2013 you could actually buy small headphones-like device to use it as a mouse on PC.

Right now AI and such "controlling" is in the same state as 3D/VR. When you look at it and compare it to what we had 20 years ago... its actually still the same, companies just learn to sell it better, in better package. Even non-glasse 3D screens are just technology that was still in development back then.
Even all that AI that are so amazing right now and beat people in some tasks... cant do anything else, so its not so inteligent at all, we just learn it how to do one task and it cant do anything else.

            Nokia 6(2025) SD 730

there's already basically 2 ranges in the 600 series, e.g. there was 625 with 652, and 630 with 660. They probably will just make this 652/660 series into the 700 series to make it clearer, so the 670 might be renamed into something like the 730.

Thesis86, 27 Feb 2018Will this be coming out this year? If not...mehComercial samples will ship out to manufacturers in the first half of the year, so maybe we'll get devices with a Snapdragon 700 by the end of the year.

Currently all what those "magical AI" chips on phones can do is... recognize scene when you take a picture and analyze user data to recommend app to open.
Or saying it simpler: things that automatic modes in cameras could do for years.

Best part is that they force in camera UI all those additional modes like "pet" or "food" when they do exactly the same thing... what a super-ultra inteligent function: adding some softening/punchy colors and blur in the background, its so advanced that we need separate AI chip for that.

And we still havent seen 670 in phones

Will this be coming out this year? If not...meh

I assume now for tomorrow (+7), the Zenfone 5 will use Snapdragon 700 series. Cause the regular series, Zenfone 5 is no way use flagship Snapdragon 800 like Pro series. And ASUS leaks says the Zenfone 5 will powered by AI. Hmmm... Let's see!

No one seems to ever utilise the latest quick charge tech from Qualcomm, always 2 generation behind. More hype than anything
