After reading comments on phones and tech from different places, I've realized something, people will always bash something new without even seeing it in real life. So yeah, dynamic vibration can be useful for certain people (admittedly, it's a very small difference) and don't trust the internet when it comes to a new feature, just try it yourself and see if you like it

I work in Unity3D and created a prototype android application with a video to see if it could grab the audio from this. It couldn't, so clearly there is some work required to get it active.
Naturally if you're just playing videos in existing apps (native video player, youtube, etc) then that's great and all, but clearly if I want to utilise it in a custom build there's some switch somewhere to alter it - or at least something in code that is blocking it.

i wonder if it's comparable to a subwoofer. nevertheless, great innovation but at the cost of 3.5mm, probably wait until 2020 when my XZs dies and hopefully, there will be a successor xperia phone which retains the 3.5mm ( after the backlash/poor sales) and if possible a xperia walkman with audiophile features such as 4.4mm and 3.5mm, os con capacitors aluminium milled chassis, isolated and shielded power supply

Pleasure, 28 Feb 2018There are many uses for a vibration motor.
It's too bad ... moreThat would actually be cool. Probably it works with VR games too. Would like to try Bad Dream or some other horror VR game with this XZ2. :-)
DVS is a great entertainment add on, especially for gaming, including VR.
It will remain on some future better designed Xperia too, Im sure. So Ill just wait for that.

I don't understand why they're wasting time on gimmicks like this when they should be improving their camera software so that it can at least take pictures as good as their competitors' devices using the same camera hardware that they created.

Anonymous, 27 Feb 2018Jojo said it best: too little too lateHDR video recording, hdr upscale, this DVS system....
I wont consider this Xperias because of lack of jack...
But definitely not too little too late, as these are futureproof innovations, and much more important than what other OEMs offered.

Oppaii, 27 Feb 2018I wonder how it feels like ...does it feel like the same as... moreNo I don't think so(that thing is mostly scary but cool at times)... This will give a woofer effect. That vibration in the room that comes from turning up the woofer to the loudest. It usually shakes the glass in cars(Even homes too). That's what sony is aiming for. It can't be as powerful but the closest thing at the size of a phone... It's basically going to kick A.S.S. It's a crazy one this time. (YEAH RIGHT THEY CALL IT GIMMICK) I see what sony did there...
I just hope the vibration syncs perfectly. It will though, IT's A SONY!
