Looks cool!! But again it is not in fraction of price mentioned for this SOC. It is standing in the flagship realm when it comes to smartphone price again. It will go against Mi7 (even Mi6) or slightly costlier 1+5T or yesteryear's flagships whose already has flagship SOC on their phone in this offering price.
One take away is Android One implementation, but again there will be expected successor for Mi A1 when this arrives market.

Comparing with the incoming phones from the competitors... this one is expensive for the features that it has, nothing special. Android stock is now portable to all project Treble devices with the last security patchs. With OIS and stereo speakers it would have been more attractive like the new Zenfone 5 / 5Z from Asus. Surely the Zenfone 5 will be cheaper and better. Even so, I want to wait to see how Xiaomi responds in March-April and what alternatives offer in response because sure that the'll see cautetly what prices Asus publish. Better for us if they adjust them a lot. Not like Nokia/HMD for now.

For it's price is a bargain, even at the launch time! Now I own a Nexus 6P and I plan to switch to Nokia 7 Plus, due to the Android One enrolment and the battery size

Honestly, too expensive to be a midranger. maybe 350 euros will do but 399? i'll just wait for Sony or LG to release more 18:9 phones.

I was considering buy this phone but for 399 euros, no, thanks. For that price I'll wait for the Mi 7 and other models. The Zenfone 5/5Z are good too ad seems come with better specs/quality/price. HMD/Foxconn in their line...
