Akinaro, 28 Feb 2018Lol 5G when most of 4G work really bad, and rest of places ... moreYou're wrong about 4G in Chicago,Illinois.
4G coverage is good all over Chicago. Whether it be the city centre or the suburbs, Des Plaines, Park Ridge, Highland Park, Oak Park etc even down south to the hood by 26th & California and even more down to the south side or even more south to Dolton.
West Side, Oak Brook, Elmhurst, downers Grove, Schaumburg all had good LTE coverage.
Heck, even Crystal Lake, Fox Lake and even McHenry all showed LTE on my phones so I don't know what junk you have or whatever that forces you 3G only unless you have it like that forced only through your settings which you should check out and mess around with.
I've been living in Chicago for half my life, that's 16 years total up to now, had Cricket(AT&T) later switched to MetroPCS (T-Mobile) and LTE was always fully on/working on my phones wherever I went. Even if it was just 1 signal bar available, I still had LTE and that was all on my Samsung Galaxy S4 and later upgraded Galaxy Note4.

I have a dual unlocked SIM phone with all T-mobile and and Sprint 3G, 3,5G, 4G/LTE bands. Also, I have installed a T-mobile SIM card, and an other one from Sprint.
I newer saw better Sprint signal level than T-mobile, but several time I had only T-mobile service (New York, Boston, DC, etc). Driving on rural PA, NY, CT, MA, ME. NH, VT, OH, the Sprint signal was bad (read almost nonexistent, despite their coverage maps).
I'm so skeptical about Sprint future...

Lol 5G when most of 4G work really bad, and rest of places still stuck at 3G. And IM not talking about some 3world countries like India but Chicago in US, or European cities like Valencia, Madrid, Warsaw, Lyon or Rotterdam.
Friends who live in other bigger cities also complain about stability of 4G and it doesnt matter if its orange, vodafone or t-mobile.
There is signal and speed is nice for most of time but very often it switch to 3G without a reason, lag or when you move even 10m it just drop connection and switch to 3G. Carriers of course say that they have 4G and "problems of dropping connection should be expected in center of cities", but but when you move outside cities there is no signal of 4G at all...
Worst part is that such switching from 3g to 4g to even 2G is not good for battery. If there is no stable signal phone is forced to switch all the time and look for connections draining battery really badly.
So before carriers start rolling 5G it would be nice if they finalize implementing 4G to be more stable in every places, not just few selected big cities.
