China variant is better on Primary Camera aperture at f1.9 and Android Oreo out of the box. Also slightly better on Antutu benchmark versus the Note 5 Pro India.. :)

Merwyn Fernandes, 01 Mar 2018Just Boycott all the ReSellers let them keep their stocks i... moreyeah bro. This is the best blow we can give to them as genuine customers. Let them keep their stock and eventually they'll learn their lesson.

So the single-camera, SD625 phone is 'Redmi Note 5' in India but 'Redmi 5 plus' in the rest of the world. And the dual-camera, SD636 phone is 'Redmi Note 5 Pro' in India but 'Redmi Note 5' in the rest of the world. Sure, it makes perfect sense!

Anonymous, 01 Mar 2018Really good for scamming online purchasers, online sellers ... moreJust Boycott all the ReSellers let them keep their stocks if you really want the phone wait for the hype to come down sooner or later it will go on open sale and then people can easily buy it.
The more we buy from re-sellers the more difficult it will be for us to break this trend.
No one should buy from re-sellers so that they come to a situation that they will have to sell it less than the MRP or keep the dead stocks as the warranty period will become lesser and lesser as per the bill date there will be lesser no of people who will buy phones from them.

There is nothing wrong with the naming they just launched Redmi Note 5 as the Redmi Note 5 pro in India as they wanted to increase the price and ppl would cry that they increased the prices hence just to fool ppl they launched the Plus as note and the Real Note as Pro.
its just a way around for Xiaomi to increase the price of its phones without actually letting people know about it.
All the other markets will follow the same naming scheme as the Note 5 except India reason being other markets are not so price sensitive.

Xiaomi is really messing it up now. They launched Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus in China and than in Pakistan 2 days ahead of Redmi Note 5 Pro and Redmi Note 5 (5 Plus) in India. Now they are launching Redmi Note 5 pro as Note 5 in China. If same going to happen in Pakistan and other countries. They are going to mess up Redmi 5 Plus, Note 5 and Note 5 Pro.

Anonymous, 01 Mar 2018Xiaomi continuing with the mess that is their device naming... moreHonestly, names etc of phones has been befuddled, Sony do it too. Chinese manufacturers are a nightmare for it. If I were in charge, I'd have and a series for low end, c series for mid range, and an f series for high end.
