12 August, 2011
Counting the number of smartphones actually sold, Nokia is still on top. Not for long, though.

AnonD-10946, 16 Aug 2011ROFL no meaning what so ever? My point was exactly that, it... moreLOL, "poor common folk", shows what you're thinking. The thing is the tone in your replies thus far just sets to reinforce the perception of "These Westerners are arrogant". You totally missed Satannu Dey's point.

So you take great pride in humiliating 'Nokia fanboys". To what end & for what benefit? Unless you work for one of the Android brands or Apple, no point.

And unless I work in Nokia, it doesnt directly effect me if their sales up, down, medium, dying...whatever.

[deleted post]ROFL no meaning what so ever? My point was exactly that, its not surprising Nokia still outsells Apple since Apple only targets the high end market, meaning those who CAN afford a $500+ mobile phone where as Nokia has an average selling price of 136 euros for their smart phone meaning its more accessible to the common poor folk much like the other guy pointed out.

So Android and Apple fanboys are islamic radical equivalents? Funny thats how i view Nokia fanboys such as yourself. Nokia is on top! Nokia posted record declines in sales? They are still on TOP! They are just sleeping! Watch out when they wake up!

Also just to let you know aside from Motorola, not many android devices are made in the USA smart guy ;) RIM = canada, HTC = taiwanese, Samsung = Korean, Sony Ericcson = Sony + Ericcson(Swedish), LG = Korean so therefor your comment about country of Origin has no relevance.

At the very least with me, I give factual evidence to all my post and you Nokia fanboys are just ridiculous, look at how many fanboys I humiliated by giving facts that destroyed all their credibility. Aaptk, Sun Down, Sails, etc. Looks like I just humiliated another one as well eh?

        [deleted post]HI Jorgie,

Sorry mate, but N9 will not be released in the US.... you need to ship one from here(EU) or Asia....or grab one with windows 7....
And sorry for the generalisation about the people from the US, but few people are really snob in a lot of ways out there....

AnonD-10946, 15 Aug 2011What you fail to "REALIZE", I assume you are of E... moreLove how you Americans assume that because it's your spelling, it's right. REALISE that both are right, fool.

Definitely agree that Symbian can't be considered smart. Breathing and walking at the same time is better multitasking than Symbian can manage.

            Gartner must be mistaken.
No matter how they "count", Nokia is nobody in the smart phone arena.
This is because Symbian-based phone can not be defined as smart, period.

Gauron, 15 Aug 2011what you fail to realise is that not the whole world needs ... moreWhat you fail to "REALIZE", I assume you are of English(British) origins in which they seem to use "realise" even though it is incorrect, is that the person you commented on is entirely correct.

First the figures include all Symbian devices and the Japanese market also contributes to a large portion of Symbian devices, a lot of feature phones run on symbian with specialized functions.

Secondly, how is it illogical to mention the fact that Nokia has a broad portfolio of devices at large price variatons when compared to Apple which only has 2 current devices(Iphone 3GS only still being sold on AT&T, however majority of devices sold are Iphone 4) at one price range: high end as a justification of Symbian outselling iOS? You wouldn't call someone illogical if you told them "Acura sells more vehicles than Lambourghini" would you? Yeah sure Acura also makes exotic sports vehicles just like Lambourghini but they sell also entry level luxury sedans, suvs, and hybrids. So again tell me how does he not see anything "logical"?

Also just to let you know Nokia's main profitable areas are India and China, low economic developing countries however both their market share are gradually decreasing in these markets since the people of these countries are becoming more educated and have more money to spend on better phones.

More t... morewhat you fail to realise is that not the whole world needs an iphone/android, nor can they afford it. Nokia makes phones for people of all classes. I agree they are lacking in the smartphone area these days, but bash them on that front, dont focus on something YOU dont see logical. There will always need to be cheap phones, for people that need to make a CALL.

well i don't know about you guys but i have my nokia N8 for 10 months now and i love it. never cunked out and a pleasure to use. and i'd rather go for the superior camera ( especially the HD video recording ) and superb sound then an operating system allegedly a bit easier and faster to use.

Nokia have made a dreadfuk mistake with the Symbian 3 system. It's shocking! I've used Nokia for years and found them reliable but not this time. I've bought the N8 and it's not good, wished now I HAD bought the Desire and gone with Andriod.
