I bought a Moto G Power and returned it because it was too heavy (198g) for me. I paid $45 restocking fee. I then bought Moto G Stylus and while it is somewhat lighter (191g) with the cover on it still feels heavyand guess what, I am already contemplating returning it. Another $45 down the drain at Best Buy. I am currently having a Samsung S6 (136g). I am going to try Moto Z fast. No more restocking fee. I am going somewhere else not Best Buy.

      - from settings > apps > disable what is allowed (nothing that could cause a bootloop will be available, so it's safe)
      - from terminal with "pm disable" or my favorite "pm hide", but here if you don't know what you're doing, it could be a bit dangerous.
But I always try to learn from my mistakes :)

Weight should not be anymore a concern, look at smartphone sizes, you can't expect them to weight nothing when they are huge. What we get from smartphones 150-200g is very acceptable

Though I bet that many that root their devices aren't "experts" (not even by their own standards). But just do it to get rid of some limitations.
I would say that it requires a lot more insight to SENSIBLY decide what to disable and what to keep alive, than it requires to root a device - with or without a custom ROM.

...But sure, people OUGHT not to root, unless they know what they are doing...

            Faulty poll.
Weight should be measured against dimensions / size.
If you suggest selling a 5" phone with 200g, of course its deadly heavy.
When you have a 7" (or 6.5~6.9") phablet at 200g, thats a diff story.

still a stupid poll. these "ideal" weight is just a compromise to the reality that phone's are heavy devices. If physics didn't affect specs, everyone would definitely want the lightest device possible.

The ideal weight is 150gr, if it's lighter it's ok, we have a tolerance up to 175gr for the big phones, but that's it! No more!
And thickness should be at 0.9cm and wideness at maximum 7.4cm in order to allow single hand use.

A phone isn't heavy if it's small by size despite of weighting a couple of grams more. That extra weight can be felt when phones get as huge as today's smartphones, you can definitely feel the weight when having to balance your phone in your palm.

The illusions that have grown on people are very steong. Not even real facts can outweigh them. I would prefer a policarbonate body with a removable back, but if I actually choose a phone with that, I'll have to give up a lot of performance.

For me the S6 edge 132g is the ideal smartphone and it's my favorite smartphone of lifetime. Right now I'm using S8 which is some 152g, the good thing is it's still the lightest flagship phone of the year 2017, even in 2018 where the S9 has become heavier... I don't like how phones are getting heavier day by day.. Iphone X 174g... Really? Iphone 6 was just 129.. So I think anything below 150 is perfect. Brands should work in the right direction again and design light slim sexy smartphones.

I would take a lightweight, plastic phone over metal and glass anytime, anyday. Not only they were lighter, they felt better (were not cold to the touch, not conductive etc.).

Funny, i just weighted my Galaxy Note 4 with the Trident case on a professional scale and is a whooping 245 grams, it hasn't bothered me at all, but a bit lighter would be better for sure.

For the record is a 5.7" Phablet 16:9 ratio with a heavy duty protective case

Hey GSMA, you should do a poll about what kind of users your readers are in relation to smartphones:

                                      - Basic (only for calls & sms)
                                      - Regular (will install 3rd party apps, use internet)
                                      - Advanced (will disable system apps, tweak with settings)
                                      - Expert (will root the phone, use custom ROMs)
                                      - Guru (will play with the kernel, build custom ROMs)

What do you guys think? :)
                                      Good pole idea or not?
