US committee might have issues with the Broadcom/Qualcomm deal

The Committee on Foreign Investment in the US has met to discuss the deal (Broadcom's corporate HQ is in Singapore).

As for Ericson. Not very sure about that and there's a quite big chance I am mistaken. So if I am, kindly correct me. Ericson didn't join the 5G tower family as far as I recall.

            "Qualcomm is one of the leading players in the build-up to 5G networks (in partnership with Nokia), Huawei is the main competitor. A source familiar with CFIUS says that if the deal goes through, there may be no other option for American carriers than to rely on Huawei."

            What about Samsung? Didn't they showcase their 5G tech behind closed doors? Didn't they team up with Verizon to showcase the 5G video call? Didn't Sprint just announce that they will use Samsung's tech for 5G?

            Ericsson ring any bells too?
