goo, 10 Mar 2018its very good that a mid range phone from nokia have an upd... moreYeah, can't call it "very good" because of its specifications; for example - and that list is long:
Screen resolution is 1080 x 1920 pixels, 16:9 ratio, by the Qualcomm SDM630 Snapdragon 630 and no stereo speakers, no dual cameras and so on...
Other Android devices, in 2018, carry (the new!) SD636 and /or SD660 which are still (!) mid-r range and are - almost incomparably - better performers, as for the "Kryo" cores if nothing else.
(I suppose that one thing that it's got going for it, is: Android One; not all, but the Global (ROM) version is stock, or "Vanilla", Android! Make sure you don't get stuck with teh Chinese won, which isn't -even- Android 8.x btw. :))

I would take Nokia6 anyday before those chinese phones that Are forgetted the day it has been sold to customer. I like that my phone is usefull and secure Also in the couple of next years... Not a couple of days.

Maybe you got lucky, even though...i doubt. But their are hundred thousend of others that buy into this stuff and regret it later, a lot! When defect: No support, no return, no nothing. When working? No updates, stealing data, high privacy concerns, buggy, call quallity like talking into a can, coverage average to low. Yeah, you are right, you people are really smart.

Someone mentioned that you can buy the S7 Galaxy for that money. Where I live, the S7 can be bought for 350 EUR. Now, I personally wouldn't want to invest in an old model, but why not? And I literally mean why? I want to know the reason why the old models should be avoided? Is it because of the software updates? Is there anything else that should be taken into account?
I am thinking of buying a new phone, and that question has been bothering me for the past couple of months. If I go for one of the old flagships that cost as much as a nice mid-ranger (upper mid class?), will I make a mistake?
The S7, which was mentioned, on paper (spec sheet) has a lot in common with the latest mid ranger. I'd dare say that the CPU, GPU and the camera are better, but I might be wrong since I am no expert.
I like the XA2, its design and the overall package, but it is quite similarly priced as Samsungs old flagship. What would be some advantages of buying and owning the new model?
Would someone be kind enough to give me an explanation?

Compared to other midrangers this phone is like a flagship just for 300.
Its great that Nokia shine again.
When i will upgrade or look for another phone from my Moto X4 it will be Nokia for sure.

People seem to miss that it's not going to be 300 Euros everywhere. Taxes, exchange rates, import costs, and purchasing power - many factors come into play. It might be 200 in India, or 400 in the UK - it really depends on locale.

Be durable is not an excuse to be expensive with lower specifications. I have several cheap chinese phones perfectly working after dozens of drops, very durable.This Nokia 6 is too expensive for what it offers, but it seems it's the HMD trend. Clearly no for someone that value his money and know what he is buying.

I'am tired of saying this but again: Don't want it? Don't buy it. A strong, expensive and durable tank with powerful armament is not for everybody.

This is way too pricey. The Mi A1 can ve had for a little over 200 euros with 4gb and 64gb, dual camera and snapdragon 625. This should have been been around 250-279 for the full 4gb/64gb model not 300, especially as the camera seems pretty standard. Nokias come down in price as well the older 6 model is quite cheap now.

If droid updates are so important to pay 100 over. That xiaomi will last you same as nokia.
Asus 2013 nexus 7 have lasted me for 4 years and it's plastic with no protections.
Asus make motherboard and graphics cards and headphones and so on. Same like Gigabyte makes motherboards and graphics cards but phones are unknown to everyone :D They are or were good at motherboard apartment but not so sure about phones.
i change phones in every two years anyways so whats the point of the brand and updates if i do same with Nokia to a new Nokia. Now something different and Xiaomi maybe.

The Mi Mix 2 actually cos 354 euros and the Zenfone 5Z was announced officially with a 374 euros price with the SD845, so the Zenfone 5 with a SD636 will cost a lot lower and probably around the cost of the Nokia 6 having a lot better specifications. So for a bit more you have a absolutely a lot better phone and if you wait a bit even for the same money.
